Acts 9:1-18 GW
(1) Saul kept threatening to murder the Lord's disciples. He went to the chief priest (2) and asked him to write letters of authorization to the synagogue leaders in the city of Damascus. Saul wanted to arrest any man or woman who followed the way of Christ and imprison them in Jerusalem. (3) As Saul was coming near the city of Damascus, a light from heaven suddenly flashed around him. (4) He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, "Saul! Saul! Why are you persecuting me?" (5) Saul asked, "Who are you, sir?" The person replied, "I'm Jesus, the one you're persecuting. (6) Get up! Go into the city, and you'll be told what you should do." (7) Meanwhile, the men traveling with him were speechless. They heard the voice but didn't see anyone. (8) Saul was helped up from the ground. When he opened his eyes, he was blind. So his companions led him into Damascus. (9) For three days he couldn't see and didn't eat or drink. (10) A disciple named Ananias lived in the city of Damascus. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias!" Ananias answered, "Yes, Lord." (11) The Lord told him, "Get up! Go to Judas' house on Straight Street, and ask for a man named Saul from the city of Tarsus. He's praying. (12) In a vision he has seen a man named Ananias place his hands on him to restore his sight." (13) Ananias replied, "Lord, I've heard a lot of people tell about the many evil things this man has done to your people in Jerusalem. (14) Saul has come here to Damascus with authority from the chief priests to put anyone who calls on your name in prison." (15) The Lord told Ananias, "Go! I've chosen this man to bring my name to nations, to kings, and to the people of Israel. (16) I'll show him how much he has to suffer for the sake of my name." (17) Ananias left and entered Judas' house. After he placed his hands on Saul, Ananias said, "Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way to Damascus, sent me to you. He wants you to see again and to be filled with the Holy Spirit." (18) Immediately, something like fish scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. Then Saul stood up and was baptized.

Acts 9:1-18 GNB
(1) In the meantime Saul kept up his violent threats of murder against the followers of the Lord. He went to the High Priest (2) and asked for letters of introduction to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he should find there any followers of the Way of the Lord, he would be able to arrest them, both men and women, and bring them back to Jerusalem. (3) As Saul was coming near the city of Damascus, suddenly a light from the sky flashed around him. (4) He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul! Why do you persecute me?" (5) "Who are you, Lord?" he asked. "I am Jesus, whom you persecute," the voice said. (6) "But get up and go into the city, where you will be told what you must do." (7) The men who were traveling with Saul had stopped, not saying a word; they heard the voice but could not see anyone. (8) Saul got up from the ground and opened his eyes, but could not see a thing. So they took him by the hand and led him into Damascus. (9) For three days he was not able to see, and during that time he did not eat or drink anything. (10) There was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. He had a vision, in which the Lord said to him, "Ananias!" "Here I am, Lord," he answered. (11) The Lord said to him, "Get ready and go to Straight Street, and at the house of Judas ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying, (12) and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come in and place his hands on him so that he might see again." (13) Ananias answered, "Lord, many people have told me about this man and about all the terrible things he has done to your people in Jerusalem. (14) And he has come to Damascus with authority from the chief priests to arrest all who worship you." (15) The Lord said to him, "Go, because I have chosen him to serve me, to make my name known to Gentiles and kings and to the people of Israel. (16) And I myself will show him all that he must suffer for my sake." (17) So Ananias went, entered the house where Saul was, and placed his hands on him. "Brother Saul," he said, "the Lord has sent me---Jesus himself, who appeared to you on the road as you were coming here. He sent me so that you might see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit." (18) At once something like fish scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he was able to see again. He stood up and was baptized;

Acts 9:1-18 ALT
(1) Now Saul, still breathing threat[s] and murder against the disciples of the Lord, having gone to the high priest, (2) requested letters from him to Damascus, to the synagogues, in order that if he should find any being of the Way, both men and women, having been bound, he should bring them to Jerusalem. (3) Now as he [was] traveling, he came to be approaching Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven [or, the sky] flashed around him. (4) And having fallen on the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" (5) Then he said, "Who are You, Lord?" And the Lord said, "I am Jesus whom you are persecuting! (6) "But get up and enter into the city, and it will be told to you what it is necessary [for] you to be doing." (7) But the men, the ones traveling with him, had stood speechless, indeed hearing the voice but seeing no one. (8) Then Saul got up from the ground, and [although] his eyes had been opened, he saw no one. So leading him by the hand, they brought [him] into Damascus. (9) And he was three days not seeing, and he neither ate nor drank. (10) Now [there] was a certain disciple in Damascus, by name Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias!" So he said, "Here I [am], Lord!" (11) Then the Lord [said] to him, "Having risen, go to the street, the one being called Straight, and look in [the] house of Judas for [a man] by name of Saul of Tarsus. For listen! He is praying. (12) "And he saw in a vision a man by name Ananias coming in and laying a hand on him, in order that he should regain [his] sight." (13) But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many wicked [things] he did to Your holy ones [or, saints, and throughout book] in Jerusalem. (14) "And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all the ones calling on Your name." (15) But the Lord said to him, "Be going, because this one is a chosen vessel to Me to bear My name before Gentiles and kings and the sons [and daughters] of Israel. (16) "For I will show to him how many [things] it is necessary [for] him to suffer for the sake of My name." (17) And Ananias went away and entered into the house; and having laid his hands on him, he said, "Saul, brother, the Lord, the One appearing to you on the road in which you were coming, has sent me in order that you shall regain [your] sight and shall be filled with [the] Holy Spirit." (18) And immediately [there] fell off from his eyes [something] like scales, and {at once} he regained [his] sight! And having gotten up, he was baptized.

Acts 9:1-18 NWT
9 But Saul, (Paul) still breathing threat and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, in order that he might bring bound to Jerusalem any whom he found who belonged to The Way, both men and women. 3 Now as he was traveling he approached Damascus, when suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him, 4 and he fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him: "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" 5 He said: "Who are you, Lord?" He said: "I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. 6 Nevertheless, rise and enter into the city, and what you must do will be told you." 7 Now the men that were journeying with him were standing speechless, hearing, indeed, the sound of a voice, but not beholding any man. 8 But Saul got up from the ground, and though his eyes were opened he was seeing nothing. So they led him by the hand and conducted him into Damascus. 9 And for three days he did not see anything, and he neither ate nor drank. 10 There was in Damascus a certain disciple named Ananias, and the Lord said to him in a vision: "Ananias!" He said: "Here I am, Lord." 11 The Lord said to him: "Rise, go to the street called Straight, and at the house of Judas look for a man named Saul, from Tarsus. For, look! he is praying, 12 and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias come in and lay his hands upon him that he might recover sight." 13 But Ananias answered: "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many injurious things he did to your holy ones in Jerusalem. 14 And here he has authority from the chief priests to put in bonds all those calling upon your name." 15 But the Lord said to him: "Be on your way, because this man is a chosen vessel to me to bear my name to the nations as well as to kings and the sons of Israel. 16 For I shall show him plainly how many things he must suffer for my name." 17 So Ananias went off and entered into the house, and he laid his hands upon him and said: "Saul, brother, the Lord, the Jesus that appeared to you on the road over which you were coming, has sent me forth, in order that you may recover sight and be filled with holy spirit." 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes what looked like scales, and he recovered sight; and he rose and was baptized,

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
