Ezekiel 9:2-6 CEV
(2) I saw six men come through the north gate of the temple, each one holding a deadly weapon. A seventh man dressed in a linen robe was with them, and he was carrying things to write with. The men went into the temple and stood by the bronze altar. (3) The brightness of God's glory then left its place above the statues of the winged creatures inside the temple and moved to the entrance. The LORD [] said to the man in the linen robe, (4) "Walk through the city of Jerusalem and mark the forehead of anyone who is truly upset and sad about the disgusting things that are being done here." (5) He turned to the other six men and said, "Follow him and put to death everyone who doesn't have a mark on their forehead. Show no mercy or pity! Kill men and women, parents and children. Begin here at my temple and be sure not to harm those who are marked." The men immediately killed the leaders who were standing there. (6) (SEE 9:5)

The ancient city of Jerusalem represented 's connection with mankind during the period when the Jews were being used as his nation to produce the promised Messiah. (Mat 1:1; Gal 3:26-29) 's kingdom is today represented all through the earth in the hearts of those who are followers of his Christ. (John 6:28-29) The men with the weapons of destruction walking through ancient Jerusalem represents the angels destroying the wicked all through the earth in our day.

Ezekiel 9:2-6 NWT
2 And, look! there were six men coming from the direction of the upper gate that faces to the north, each one with his weapon for smashing in his hand; and there was one man in among them clothed with linen, with a secretary's inkhorn at his hips, and they proceeded to come in and stand beside the copper altar. 3 And as regards the glory of the God of Israel, it was taken up from over the cherubs over which it happened to be to the threshold of the house, and he began calling out to the man that was clothed with the linen, at whose hips there was the secretary's inkhorn. 4 And Jehovah [] went on to say to him: "Pass through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and you must put a mark on the foreheads of the men that are sighing and groaning over all the detestable things that are being done in the midst of it." 5 And to these [others] he said in my ears: "Pass through the city after him and strike. Let not your eye feel sorry, and do not feel any compassion. 6 Old man, young man and virgin and little child and women you should kill off-to a ruination. But to any man upon whom there is the mark do not go near, and from my sanctuary you should start." So they started with the old men that were before the house.

And one man among them was clothed in linen, and an ink horn of a scribe at his loins. And they went in and stood beside the bronze altar. (3) And the glory of the God of Israel had gone on, from on the cherub where it was on it, to the threshold of the house. And He called to the man clothed in linen with the ink horn of a scribe at his loins. (4) And Jehovah [] said to him, Pass through in the midst of the city, in the midst of Jerusalem, and mark a mark on the foreheads of the men who are groaning and are mourning over all the abominations that are done in her midst. (5) And He said to those in my hearing, Pass over in the city after him and strike. Do not let your eye spare, and do not have pity. (6) Slay the aged men, the young man, and the virgin, even children, and women, all to destruction. But to every man who has the mark on him, do not come near. And begin from My sanctuary. And they began with the aged men who were before the house.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
