John 12:42-43 BBE
(42) However, a number even of the rulers had belief in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not say so openly for fear that they might be shut out from the Synagogue: (43) For the praise of men was dearer to them than the approval of God.

John 12:42-43 ALT
(42) Nevertheless, still also out of the rulers many believed [or, trusted] in Him, _but_ because of the Pharisees they were not confessing [Him publicly], so that they should not be expelled from the synagogue. (43) For they loved the glory of people more than the glory of God.

John 12:42-43 CEV
(42) Even then, many of the leaders put their faith in Jesus, but they did not tell anyone about it. The Pharisees had already given orders for the people not to have anything to do with anyone who had faith in Jesus. (43) And besides, the leaders liked praise from others more than they liked praise from God.

John 12:42-43 Darby
(42) Although indeed from among the rulers also many believed on him, but on account of the Pharisees did not confess him , that they might not be put out of the synagogue: (43) for they loved glory from men rather than glory from God.

John 12:42-43 NWT
42 All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory of men more than even the glory of God.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version
