John 12:42-50 GW
Many rulers believed in Jesus. However, they wouldn't admit it publicly because the Pharisees (religious leaders) would have thrown them out of the synagogue. (43) They were more concerned about what people thought of them than about what God thought of them. (44) Then Jesus said loudly, "Whoever believes in me believes not only in me but also in the one who sent me. (45) Whoever sees me sees the one who sent me. (46) I am the light that has come into the world so that everyone who believes in me will not live in the dark. (47) If anyone hears my words and doesn't follow them, I don't condemn them. I didn't come to condemn the world but to save the world. (48) Those who reject me by not accepting what I say have a judge appointed for them. The words that I have spoken will judge them on the last day. (John 3:18-19) (49) I have not spoken on my own. Instead, the Father who sent me told me what I should say and how I should say it. (50) I know that what he commands is eternal life. Whatever I say is what the Father told me to say."

John 12:42-50 BBE
(42) However, a number even of the rulers had belief in him, but because of the Pharisees they did not say so openly for fear that they might be shut out from the Synagogue: (43) For the praise of men was dearer to them than the approval of God. (44) Then Jesus said with a loud voice, He who has faith in me, has faith not in me, but in him who sent me. (45) And he who sees me, sees him who sent me. (46) I have come as a light into the world, so that no one who has faith in me will go on living in the dark. (47) And if any man gives ear to my words and does not keep them, I am not his judge: I did not come to be judge of the world but to give salvation to the world. (48) He who puts me on one side and does not take my words to heart, is not without a judge: the word which I have said will be his judge on the last day. (49) For I have not said it on my authority, but the Father who sent me gave me orders what to say and how to say it. (50) And I have knowledge that his order is eternal life: so that the things which I say, I say them even as the Father says them to me.

John 12:42-50 ALT
(42) Nevertheless, still also out of the rulers many believed [or, trusted] in Him, _but_ because of the Pharisees they were not confessing [Him publicly], so that they should not be expelled from the synagogue. (43) For they loved the glory of people more than the glory of God. (44) But Jesus cried out and said, "The one believing [or, trusting] in Me does not believe in Me but in the One having sent Me! (45) "And the one looking upon Me, looks upon the One having sent Me. (46) "I have come as Light to the world, so that every [one] believing [or, trusting] in Me shall not remain in the darkness. (47) "And if anyone hears My sayings and does not believe [them] [or, does not accept [them] as true], I do not judge Him, for I did not come so that I should judge the world, but so that I should save the world. (48) "The one rejecting Me [or, regarding Me as nothing] and not receiving My sayings has one judging him-the word which I spoke, that will judge him in the last day. (49) "Because I spoke not from Myself, but the Father having sent Me, He gave Me a command what I should say and what I should speak. (50) "And I know that His command is eternal life. Therefore, what I speak, just as the Father has said to Me, so I speak."

John 12:42-50 CEV
(42) Even then, many of the leaders put their faith in Jesus, but they did not tell anyone about it. The Pharisees had already given orders for the people not to have anything to do with anyone who had faith in Jesus. (43) And besides, the leaders liked praise from others more than they liked praise from God. (44) In a loud voice Jesus said: Everyone who has faith in me also has faith in the one who sent me. (45) And everyone who has seen me has seen the one who sent me. (46) I am the light that has come into the world. No one who has faith in me will stay in the dark. (47) I am not the one who will judge those who refuse to obey my teachings. I came to save the people of this world, not to be their judge. (48) But everyone who rejects me and my teachings will be judged on the last day by what I have said. (49) I don't speak on my own. I say only what the Father who sent me has told me to say. (50) I know that his commands will bring eternal life. That is why I tell you exactly what the Father has told me.

John 12:42-50 Darby
(42) Although indeed from among the rulers also many believed on him, but on account of the Pharisees did not confess him , that they might not be put out of the synagogue: (43) for they loved glory from men rather than glory from God. (44) But Jesus cried and said, He that believes on me, believes not on me, but on him that sent me; (45) and he that beholds me, beholds him that sent me. (46) I am come into the world as light, that every one that believes on me may not abide in darkness; (47) and if any one hear my words and do not keep them , I judge him not, for I am not come that I might judge the world, but that I might save the world. (48) He that rejects me and does not receive my words, has him who judges him: the word which I have spoken, that shall judge him in the last day. (49) For I have not spoken from myself, but the Father who sent me has himself given me commandment what I should say and what I should speak; (50) and I know that his commandment is life eternal. What therefore I speak, as the Father has said to me, so I speak.

John 12:42-50 NWT
42 All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him, but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue; 43 for they loved the glory of men more than even the glory of God. 44 However, Jesus cried out and said: "He that puts faith in me puts faith, not in me [only], but in him [also] that sent me; 45 and he that beholds me beholds [also] him that sent me. 46 I have come as a light into the world, in order that everyone putting faith in me may not remain in the darkness. 47 But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. The word that I have spoken is what will judge him in the last day; 49 because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak. 50 Also, I know that his commandment means everlasting life. Therefore the things I speak, just as the Father has told me [them], so I speak [them]."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
