John 4:7-15 NWT
7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her: "Give me a drink." 8 (For his disciples had gone off into the city to buy foodstuffs.) 9 Therefore the Samaritan woman said to him: "How is it that you, despite being a Jew, ask me for a drink, when I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.) 10 In answer Jesus said to her: "If you had known the free gift of God and who it is that says to you, 'Give me a drink,' you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water." 11 She said to him: "Sir, you have not even a bucket for drawing water, and the well is deep. From what source, therefore, do you have this living water? 12 You are not greater than our forefather Jacob, who gave us the well and who himself together with his sons and his cattle drank out of it, are you?" 13 In answer Jesus said to her: "Everyone drinking from this water will get thirsty again. 14 Whoever drinks from the water that I will give him will never get thirsty at all, but the water that I will give him will become in him a fountain of water bubbling up to impart everlasting life." 15 The woman said to him: "Sir, give me this water, so that I may neither thirst nor keep coming over to this place to draw water."

(12) Are You greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well, and he and his sons and his livestock drank out of it? (13) Jesus answered and said to her, Everyone drinking of this water will thirst again; (14) but whoever may drink of the water which I will give him will not thirst, never! But the water which I will give to him will become a fountain of water in him, springing up into everlasting life. (15) The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.

John 4:6-15 CEV
(6) The well that Jacob had dug was still there, and Jesus sat down beside it because he was tired from traveling. It was noon, and after Jesus's disciples had gone into town to buy some food, a Samaritan woman came to draw water from the well. Jesus asked her, "Would you please give me a drink of water?" (7) (SEE 4:6) (8) (SEE 4:6) (9) "You are a Jew," she replied, "and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink of water when Jews and Samaritans won't have anything to do with each other?" (10) Jesus answered, "You don't know what God wants to give you, and you don't know who is asking you for a drink. If you did, you would ask me for the water that gives life." (11) "Sir," the woman said, "you don't even have a bucket, and the well is deep. Where are you going to get this life-giving water? (12) Our ancestor Jacob dug this well for us, and his family and animals got water from it. Are you greater than Jacob?" (13) Jesus answered, "Everyone who drinks this water will get thirsty again. (14) But no one who drinks the water I give will ever be thirsty again. The water I give is like a flowing fountain that gives eternal life." (15) The woman replied, "Sir, please give me a drink of that water! Then I won't get thirsty and have to come to this well again."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
