John 8:54-55 GNB Jesus answered, "If I were to honor myself, that honor would be worth nothing. The one who honors me is my Father---the very one you say is your God. (55) You have never known him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey his word.

John 8:54-55 GW Jesus said, "If I bring glory to myself, my glory is nothing. My Father is the one who gives me glory, and you say that he is your God. (55) Yet, you haven't known him. However, I know him. If I would say that I didn't know him, I would be a liar like all of you. But I do know him, and I do what he says.

John 8:54-55 CEV (54) Jesus replied, "If I honored myself, it would mean nothing. My Father is the one who honors me. You claim that he is your God, (55) even though you don't really know him. If I said I didn't know him, I would be a liar, just like all of you. But I know him, and I do what he says.

John 8:54-55 NWT 54 Jesus answered: "If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifies me, he who you say is your God; 55 and yet you have not known him. But I know him. And if I said I do not know him I should be like you, a liar. But I do know him and am observing his word.

John 8:54-55 ALT (54) Jesus answered, "If _I_ glorify Myself, My glory is nothing; My Father is the One glorifying Me, [of] whom you* say, 'He is our God.'" (55) "And you* have not known Him, but _I_ know Him; and if I should say that I do not know Him, I will be like you*-speaking falsely. _But_ I know Him, and I keep His word.

John 8:54-55 BBE (54) Jesus said in answer, If I take glory for myself, my glory is nothing: it is my Father who gives me glory, of whom you say that he is your God. (55) You have no knowledge of him, but I have knowledge of him; and if I said I have no knowledge of him I would be talking falsely like you: but I have full knowledge of him, and I keep his word.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
