Luke 3:15-17 NWT
15 Now as the people were in expectation and all were reasoning in their hearts about John: "May he perhaps be the Christ?" 16 John gave the answer, saying to all: "I, for my part, baptize you with water; but the one stronger than I am is coming, the lace of whose sandals I am not fit to untie. He will baptize you people with holy spirit and fire. 17 His winnowing shovel is in his hand to clean up his threshing floor completely and to gather the wheat into his storehouse, but the chaff he will burn up with fire that cannot be put out."

Luke 3:15-17 ALT
(15) Now the people are anticipating, and all are pondering in their hearts concerning John, whether he might be the Christ [or, the Messiah, and throughout book]. (16) John answered, saying to all, "_I_ indeed baptize you* in water [or, with water, and throughout book], but [One] mightier than I is coming, of whom I am not worthy to loose the strap of His sandals, _He_ will baptize you* in [or, with] [the] Holy Spirit and fire; (17) whose winnowing shovel [is] in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor and will gather the wheat into His barn, but He will burn the chaff in unquenchable fire!"

Luke 3:15-17 ASV
(15) And as the people were in expectation, and all men reasoned in their hearts concerning John, whether haply he were the Christ; (16) John answered, saying unto them all, I indeed baptize you with water; but there cometh he that is mightier than I, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you in the Holy Spirit and in fire: (17) whose fan is in his hand, thoroughly to cleanse his threshing-floor, and to gather the wheat into his garner; but the chaff he will burn up with unquenchable fire.

Luke 3:15-17 CEV
(15) Everyone became excited and wondered, "Could John be the Messiah?" (16) John said, "I am just baptizing with water. But someone more powerful is going to come, and I am not good enough even to untie his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (17) His threshing fork is in his hand, and he is ready to separate the wheat from the husks. He will store the wheat in his barn and burn the husks with a fire that never goes out."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version

YLT - Young's Literal Translation
