The Bible here states in verse 22, false prophets may give signs and wonders in support of their lies. Your personal knowledge of what the Bible teaches is your protection against being deceived. Make every person back up what they assert with scriptural support.

Mark 13:21-27 ALT (21) "then, if anyone says to you*, 'Look! Here [is] the Christ,' or, 'Look there!' stop believing [him]. (22) "For false christs and false prophets will be raised up, and they will give signs and wonders in order to be leading astray [fig., deceiving], if possible, even the chosen [or, the elect]. (23) "But _you*_, be watching out! Listen! I have told you* all [things] in advance. (24) "_But_ in those days, after that tribulation, 'the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light. (25) "And the stars of heaven [or, the sky] will be falling,' and the powers, the [ones] in the heavens, will be shaken. [Isaiah 34:4; Joel 2:10; Joel 2:31] (26) "And then they will see 'the Son of Humanity coming in clouds' with much power and glory! [Daniel 7:13] (27) "And then He will send out His angels, and He will gather together His chosen [ones] from the four winds, from [the] farthest limits of the earth to [the] farthest limits of heaven.

Mark 13:21-27 CEV
(21) If someone should say, "Here is the Messiah!" or "There he is!" don't believe it. (22) False messiahs and false prophets will come and work miracles and signs. They will even try to fool God's chosen ones. (23) But be on your guard! That's why I am telling you these things now. (24) In those days, right after that time of suffering, "The sun will become dark, and the moon will no longer shine. (25) The stars will fall, and the powers in the sky will be shaken." (26) Then the Son of Man will be seen coming in the clouds with great power and glory. (27) He will send his angels to gather his chosen ones from all over the earth.

Mark 13:21-27 NWT
21 "Then, too, if anyone says to you, 'See! Here is the Christ,' 'See! There he is,' do not believe [it]. 22 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give signs and wonders to lead astray, if possible, the chosen ones. 23 You, then, watch out; I have told you all things beforehand. 24 "But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, 25 and the stars will be falling out of heaven, and the powers that are in the heavens will be shaken. 26 And then they will see the Son of man coming in clouds with great power and glory. 27 And then he will send forth the angels and will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from earth's extremity to heaven's extremity.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
