Matthew 10:32-39 CEV
(32) If you tell others that you belong to me, I will tell my Father in heaven that you are my followers. (33) But if you reject me, I will tell my Father in heaven that you don't belong to me. (34) Don't think that I came to bring peace to the earth! I came to bring trouble, not peace. (35) I came to turn sons against their fathers, daughters against their mothers, and daughters-in-law against their mothers-in-law. (36) Your worst enemies will be in your own family. (37) If you love your father or mother or even your sons and daughters more than me, you are not fit to be my disciples. (38) And unless you are willing to take up your cross and come with me, you are not fit to be my disciples. (39) If you try to save your life, you will lose it. But if you give it up for me, (if you are willing to do so) you will surely find it.

The words of Christ expose what is in people's hearts, for good or for bad. If bad is revealed, his teachings set the wicked against the righteous, as the wicked have always hated the righteous. The damage the wicked always inflect is why they are being destroyed by Christ! [Rev 19:11-21]

Matthew 10:32-39 BBE
(32) To everyone, then, who gives witness to me before men, I will give witness before my Father in heaven. (33) But if anyone says before men that he has no knowledge of me, I will say that I have no knowledge of him before my Father in heaven. (34) Do not have the thought that I have come to send peace on the earth; I came not to send peace but a sword. (35) For I have come to put a man against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law: (36) And a man will be hated by those of his house. (37) He who has more love for his father or mother than for me is not good enough for me; he who has more love for son or daughter than for me is not good enough for me. (38) And he who does not take his cross and come after me is not good enough for me. (39) He who has the desire to keep his life will have it taken from him, and he who gives up his life (or is willing to do so) because of me will have it given back to him.

Matthew 10:32-39 ESV
(32) So everyone who acknowledges me before men, I also will acknowledge before my Father who is in heaven, (33) but whoever denies me before men, I also will deny before my Father who is in heaven. (34) "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. (35) For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. (36) And a person's enemies will be those of his own household. (37) Whoever loves father or mother more than me is not worthy of me, and whoever loves son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. (38) And whoever does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. (39) Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Matthew 10:32-39 NWT
32 "Everyone, then, that confesses union with me before men, I will also confess union with him before my Father who is in the heavens; 33 but whoever disowns me before men, I will also disown him before my Father who is in the heavens. 34 Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. 35 For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. 36 Indeed, a man's enemies will be persons of his own household. 37 He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. 38 And whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me. 39 He that finds his soul will lose it, and he that loses his soul for my sake will find it.

Matthew 10:32-39 LITV
(32) Then everyone who shall confess Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in Heaven. (33) But whoever denies Me before men, I also will deny him before My Father in Heaven. (34) Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. (35) I came to divide a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a bride against her mother-in-law. (36) "Ones hostile to the man shall be those of his own house." Mic. 7:6 (37) The one loving father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And the one loving son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. (38) And who does not take up his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. (39) The one finding his life shall lose it. And the one losing his life on account of Me shall find it.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
