Matthew 24:21-22 ALT
(21) "For then [there] will be great tribulation [or, affliction], such as has not been from [the] beginning of the world until now, nor never at all shall be. (22) "And if those days were not cut short, no flesh would be saved; but because of the chosen ones [or the ones being chosen], those days will be cut short.

Please note these verses contain both a warning and a promise: Jesus warned the tribulation was coming and it seems that is what we now see in the world. He also promised those days will be cut short, to protect those being selected to continue alive. So, are you protecting yourself...? That's the choice we are all making. The judgment criteria: Express faith in Christ, or don't. (John 12:48‑50; John 3:18‑21)
