Introduction to Luke Chap. 3

John starts his preaching works as the prophet going before Jesus. He tells people to repent and holds Jesus up as the one to be looked to as savior. All flesh, he says, will see the salvation of God in Christ. John is locked in prison by Herod. To make it all real, Luke traces the lineage of Jesus's earthly father Joseph all the way back to Adam.
