1 John 5:1-5 BBE
(1) Everyone who has faith that Jesus is the Christ is a child of God: and everyone who has love for the Father has love for his child. (2) In this way, we are certain that we have love for the children of God, when we have love for God and keep his laws. (3) For loving God is keeping his laws: and his laws are not hard. (4) Anything which comes from God is able to overcome the world: and the power by which we have overcome the world is our faith. (5) Who is able to overcome the world but the man who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:1-5 NWT
5 Everyone believing that Jesus is the Christ has been born from God, and everyone who loves the one that caused to be born loves him who has been born from that one. 2 By this we gain the knowledge that we are loving the children of God, when we are loving God and doing his commandments. 3 For this is what the love of God means, that we observe his commandments; and yet his commandments are not burdensome, 4 because everything that has been born from God conquers the world. And this is the conquest that has conquered the world, our faith. 5 Who is the one that conquers the world but he who has faith that Jesus is the Son of God?

1 John 5:1-5 ALT
(1) Every one believing [or, who is convinced] that Jesus is the Christ [or, the Messiah] has been begotten from God, and every one loving the One having begotten loves also the one having been begotten from [or, by] Him. (2) By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and are keeping His commandments. (3) For this is the love of God, that we are keeping His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome [or, difficult to obey]. (4) Because every one having been begotten from God overcomes the world, and this is the victory having overcome the world-your* faith! (5) Who is the one overcoming the world, if not the one believing [or, who is convinced] that Jesus is the Son of God?

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version

YLT - Young's Literal Translation
