1 Peter 4:7-14 GW The end of everything is near. Therefore, practice self-control, and keep your minds clear so that you can pray. (8) Above all, love each other warmly, because love covers many sins. (9) Welcome each other as guests without complaining. (10) Each of you as a good manager must use the gift that God has given you to serve others. (11) Whoever speaks must speak God's words (as taught us by Christ - Mat 17:5; John 12:50 of 48‑50). Whoever serves must serve with the strength God supplies so that in every way God receives glory through Jesus Christ. Glory and power belong to Jesus Christ forever and ever! Amen. (12) Dear friends, don't be surprised by the fiery troubles (the tribulation) that are coming in order to test you. Don't feel as though something strange is happening to you, (13) but be happy as you share Christ's sufferings. Then you will also be full of joy when he appears again in his glory. (14) If you are insulted because of the name of Christ (for being a Christian), you are blessed (and happy) because the Spirit of glory-the Spirit of God-is resting on you.

1 Peter 4:7-14 GNB The end of all things is near. You must be self-controlled and alert, to be able to pray. (8) Above everything, love one another earnestly, because love covers over many sins. (9) Open your homes to each other without complaining. (10) Each one, as a good manager of God's different gifts, must use for the good of others the special gift he has received from God. (11) Those who preach must preach God's messages (as taught us by Christ - Mat 17:5; John 12:50 of 48‑50); those who serve must serve with the strength that God gives them, so that in all things praise may be given to God through Jesus Christ, to whom belong glory and power forever and ever. Amen. (12) My dear friends, do not be surprised at the painful test you are suffering (the tribulation), as though something unusual were happening to you. (13) Rather be glad that you are sharing Christ's sufferings, so that you may be full of joy when his glory is revealed. (14) Happy are you if you are insulted because you are Christ's followers; this means that the glorious Spirit, the Spirit of God, is resting on you.

1 Peter 4:7-14 CEV Everything will soon come to an end. So be serious and be sensible enough to pray. (8) Most important of all, you must sincerely love each other, because love wipes away many sins. (9) Welcome people into your home and don't grumble about it. (10) Each of you has been blessed with one of God's many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well. (11) If you have the gift of speaking, preach God's message (as taught us by Christ - Mat 17:5; John 12:50 of 48‑50). If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honor to God because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful forever. Amen. (12) Dear friends, don't be surprised or shocked that you are going through testing that is like walking through fire (the tribulation). (13) Be glad for the chance to suffer as Christ suffered. It will prepare you for even greater happiness when he makes his glorious return. (14) Count it a blessing when you suffer for being a Christian. This shows that God's glorious Spirit is with you.

(1 Peter 4:7-14) 7 But the end of all things has drawn close. Be sound in mind, therefore, and be vigilant with a view to prayers. 8 Above all things, have intense love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to one another without grumbling. 10 In proportion as each one has received a gift, use it in ministering to one another as fine stewards of God’s undeserved kindness expressed in various ways. 11 If anyone speaks, [let him speak] as it were [the] sacred pronouncements of God (as taught us by Christ - Mat 17:5; John 12:50 of 48‑50); if anyone ministers, [let him minister] as dependent on the strength that God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. The glory and the might are his forever and ever. Amen. 12 Beloved ones, do not be puzzled at the burning among YOU (the tribulation), which is happening to YOU for a trial, as though a strange thing were befalling YOU. 13 On the contrary, go on rejoicing forasmuch as YOU are sharers in the sufferings of the Christ, that YOU may rejoice and be overjoyed also during the revelation of his glory. 14 If YOU are being reproached for the name of Christ, YOU are happy, because the [spirit] of glory, even the spirit of God, is resting upon YOU.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
