2 Corinthians 4:16-5:1 Douay-Rheims (16) For which cause we faint not: but though our outward man is corrupted, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. (17) For that which is at present momentary and light of our tribulation worketh for us above measure, exceedingly an eternal weight of glory. (18) We don't look for things that can be seen but for things that can't be seen. Things that can be seen are only temporary. But things that can't be seen last forever. (5:1) For we know that when this tent we live in---our body here on earth---is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.

For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. (5:1) For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

(17) And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. (18) For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever. (5:1) For we know that when this tent we live in---our body here on earth---is torn down, God will have a house in heaven for us to live in, a home he himself has made, which will last forever.
