Acts 13:16-39 CEV
(16) Paul got up. He motioned with his hand and said: People of Israel, and everyone else who worships God, listen! (17) The God of Israel chose our ancestors, and he let our people prosper while they were living in Egypt. Then with his mighty power he led them out, (18) and for about forty years he took care of them in the desert. (19) He destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan and gave their land to our people. (20) All this happened in about 450 years. Then God gave our people judges until the time of the prophet Samuel, (21) but the people demanded a king. So for forty years God gave them King Saul, the son of Kish from the tribe of Benjamin. (22) Later, God removed Saul and let David rule in his place. God said about him, "David the son of Jesse is the kind of person who pleases me most! He does everything I want him to do." [1Sam 13:13; Psalm 89:20] (23) God promised that someone from David's family would come to save the people of Israel, and that one is Jesus. (24) But before Jesus came, John was telling everyone in Israel to turn back to God and be baptized. (25) Then, when John's work was almost done, he said, "Who do you people think I am? Do you think I am the Promised One? He will come later, and I am not good enough to untie his sandals." [Mark 1:7; John 1:20,27] (26) Now listen, you descendants of Abraham! Pay attention, all of you Gentiles who are here to worship God! Listen to this message about how to be saved, because it is for everyone. (27) The people of Jerusalem and their leaders didn't realize who Jesus was. And they didn't understand the words of the prophets that they read each Sabbath. So they condemned Jesus just as the prophets had said. (28) They did exactly what the Scriptures said they would. Even though they couldn't find any reason to put Jesus to death, they still asked Pilate to have him killed. After Jesus had been put to death, he was taken down from the cross and placed in a tomb. (29) (SEE 13:28) (30) But God raised him from death! (31) Then for many days Jesus appeared to his followers who had gone with him from Galilee to Jerusalem. Now they are telling our people about him. (32) God made a promise to our ancestors. And we are here to tell you the good news (33) that he has kept this promise to us. It is just as the second Psalm says about Jesus, "You are my son because today I have become your Father." [Psalm 2:7] (34) God raised Jesus from death and will never let his body decay. It is just as God said, "I will make to you the same holy promise that I made to David." [Isaiah 55:3] (35) And in another psalm it says, "God will never let the body of his Holy One decay." [Psalm 16:10] (36) When David was alive, he obeyed God. Then after he died, he was buried in the family grave, and his body decayed. (37) But God raised Jesus from death, and his body did not decay. (38) My friends, the message is that Jesus can forgive your sins! The Law of Moses could not set you free from all your sins. (39) But everyone who has faith in Jesus is set free.

Acts 13:16-39 NWT
16 So Paul rose, and motioning with his hand, he said: "Men, Israelites and you [others] that fear God, hear. 17 The God of this people Israel chose our forefathers, and he exalted the people during their alien residence in the land of Egypt and brought them out of it with an uplifted arm. 18 And for a period of about forty years he put up with their manner of action in the wilderness. 19 After destroying seven nations in the land of Canaan, he distributed the land of them by lot: 20 all that during about four hundred and fifty years. "And after these things he gave them judges until Samuel the prophet. 21 But from then on they demanded a king, and God gave them Saul son of Kish, a man of the tribe of Benjamin, for forty years. 22 And after removing him, he raised up for them David as king, respecting whom he bore witness and said, 'I have found David the son of Jesse, a man agreeable to my heart, who will do all the things I desire.' [1Sam 13:13; Psalm 89:20] 23 From the offspring of this [man] according to his promise God has brought to Israel a savior, Jesus, 24 after John, in advance of the entry of that One, had preached publicly to all the people of Israel baptism [in symbol] of repentance. 25 But as John was fulfilling his course, he would say, 'What do you suppose I am? I am not he. But, look! one is coming after me the sandals of whose feet I am not worthy to untie.' [Mark 1:7; John 1:20,27] 26 "Men, brothers, you sons of the stock of Abraham and those [others] among you who fear God, the word of this salvation has been sent forth to us. 27 For the inhabitants of Jerusalem and their rulers did not know this One, but, when acting as judges, they fulfilled the things voiced by the Prophets, which things are read aloud every Sabbath, 28 and, although they found no cause for death, they demanded of Pilate that he be executed. 29 When, now, they had accomplished all the things written about him, they took him down from the stake and laid him in a memorial tomb. 30 But God raised him up from the dead; 31 and for many days he became visible to those who had gone up with him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are now his witnesses to the people. 32 "And so we are declaring to you the good news about the promise made to the forefathers, 33 that God has entirely fulfilled it to us their children in that he resurrected Jesus; even as it is written in the second psalm, 'You are my son, I have become your Father this day.' [Psalm 2:7] 34 And that fact that he resurrected him from the dead destined no more to return to corruption, he has stated in this way, 'I will give you people the loving-kindnesses to David that are faithful.' [Isaiah 55:3] 35 Hence he also says in another psalm, 'You will not allow your loyal one to see corruption.' [Psalm 16:10] 36 For David, on the one hand, served the express will of God in his own generation and fell asleep [in death] and was laid with his forefathers and did see corruption. 37 On the other hand, he whom God raised up did not see corruption. 38 "Let it therefore be known to you, brothers, that through this One a forgiveness of sins is being published to you; 39 and that from all the things from which you could not be declared guiltless by means of the law of Moses, everyone who believes is declared guiltless by means of this One [Christ].

Acts 13:16-39 ALT
(16) Then Paul having gotten up and having motioned with his hand, said, "Men, Israelites, and the ones fearing God, pay attention! (17) "The God of this people Israel chose our fathers and exalted the people [fig., made the people prosper] during their sojourning in the land of Egypt, and with an uplifted arm He led them out from it. (18) "And [for] about a forty year time He put up with their conduct in the wilderness. (19) "And having brought down [fig., conquered] seven nations in [the] land of Canaan, He distributed their land to them as an inheritance. (20) "And after these things, [for] about four hundred and fifty years, He gave judges until [the time of] Samuel the prophet. (21) "And then they asked for a king, and God gave to them Saul [the] son of Kish, a man from [the] tribe of Benjamin, [for] forty years. (22) "And having removed him, He raised up to them David for king, to whom also having testified, He said, 'I found David the [son] of Jesse, [to be] a man in accordance with My heart, who will do all My will.' [1Sam 13:13; Psalm 89:20] (23) "God, from this one's seed [fig., offspring] according to [His] promise, [has] brought to Israel salvation, (24) John having previously preached before [the] face of His entrance [fig, before His coming] a baptism of repentance to Israel. (25) "Now as John was completing the course [of his ministry], he said, 'Whom do youp suppose me to be? I am not [He]. But listen! One is coming after me, of whom I am not worthy to untie the sandal of [His] feet.' [Mark 1:7; John 1:20,27] (26) "Men, brothers, sons of [the] family of Abraham and the ones among youp fearing God, to youp the word of this salvation was sent. (27) "For the ones living {in} Jerusalem and their rulers, having failed to understand this One and the voices of the prophets, the ones being read aloud every Sabbath, having condemned [Him], they fulfilled [these things]. (28) "And [although] having found no cause for [putting Him to] death, they asked Pilate [for] Him to be executed. (29) "Now when they fulfilled all the [things] having been written concerning Him, having taken [Him] down from the tree [or, the cross], they laid Him in a tomb. (30) "But God raised Him from [the] dead, (31) who appeared for many days to the ones having come up together with Him from Galilee to Jerusalem, who are His witnesses to the people. (32) "And we proclaim [to] youp the Gospel, [which is] the promise having been made to the fathers, (33) that God has fulfilled this [promise] for us their children, having raised up Jesus, as it also has been written in the second Psalm, 'You are My Son; today I have begotten You.' [Psalm 2:7] (34) "And that He raised Him up from [the] dead, no longer being about [fig., subject] to return to corruption, He has said in this way, 'I will give to youp the holy [and] trustworthy [promises] of David.' [Isaiah 55:3] (35) And so He says in another [Psalm], 'You will not give [fig., allow] Your Holy One to see corruption.' [Psalm 16:10] (36) "For David indeed, having served his own generation by the counsel [or, plan] of God, fell asleep [fig., died], and he was added to [fig., buried with] his fathers and saw corruption. (37) But [He] whom God raised up did not see corruption. (38) "Therefore, let it be known to youp, men, brothers, that through this One the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to youp, (39) and from all [the things] from which youp were not able to be justified [or, declared righteous] by the Law of Moses, in this One every [one] believing is justified!

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
