Acts 4:8-13 NWT . . .Then Peter, filled with holy spirit, said to them: “Rulers of the people and older men, 9 if we are this day being examined, on the basis of a good deed to an ailing man, as to by whom this man has been made well, 10 let it be known to all of YOU and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ the Naz·a·rene´, whom YOU impaled but whom God raised up from the dead, by this one does this man stand here sound in front of YOU. 11 This is ‘the stone that was treated by YOU builders as of no account that has become the head of the corner.’ 12 Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.” 13 Now when they beheld the outspokenness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were men unlettered and ordinary, they got to wondering. You want to know how he was made well. (10) You and all the people of Israel must understand that this man stands in your presence with a healthy body because of the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth. You crucified Jesus Christ, but God has brought him back to life. (11) He is the stone that the builders rejected, the stone that has become the cornerstone. (12) No one else can save us. Indeed, we can be saved only by the power of the one named Jesus and not by any other person." (11) Jesus is the one of whom the scripture says, 'The stone that you the builders despised turned out to be the most important of all.' (12) Salvation is to be found through him alone; in all the world there is no one else whom God has given who can save us." (13) The members of the Council were amazed to see how bold Peter and John were and to learn that they were ordinary men of no education. They realized then that they had been companions of Jesus.

(10) But there is something we must tell you and everyone else in Israel. This man is standing here completely well because of the power of Jesus Christ from Nazareth. You put Jesus to death on a cross, but God raised him to life. (11) He is the stone that you builders thought was worthless, and now he is the most important stone of all. (12) Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone. (11) This One is the Stone counted worthless by you the builders, the One who has come to be into the Head of the Corner; Psa. 118:22 (12) and there is salvation in no other One, for neither is there any other name under Heaven having been given among men by which we must be saved. (11) He is the stone which you builders had no use for, but which has been made the chief stone of the building. (12) And in no other is there salvation: for there is no other name under heaven, given among men, through which we may have salvation. You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
