Deuteronomy 30:15-20 GNB
"Today I am giving you a choice between good and evil, between life and death. (16) If you obey the commands of the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, which I give you today, if you love him, obey him, and keep all his laws, then you will prosper and become a nation of many people. The LORD ( יהוה ) your God will bless you in the land that you are about to occupy. (17) But if you disobey and refuse to listen, and are led away to worship other gods, (18) you will be destroyed---I warn you here and now. You will not live long in that land across the Jordan that you are about to occupy. (19) I am now giving you the choice between life and death, between God's blessing and God's curse, and I call heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Choose life. (20) Love the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, obey him and be faithful to him, and then you and your descendants will live long in the land that he promised to give your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob." [Gal 3:26-29]
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 LITV
Behold, I have set before you today life and good and death and evil,
(16) in that I am commanding you today to love Jehovah ( יהוה )
your God, to walk in His ways, and to keep His commands and His statutes, and His judgments, and you shall live and multiply, and Jehovah ( יהוה )
your God shall bless you in the land where you are going in, to possess it. (17) But if you turn away your heart, and you do not listen, and are drawn on, even you will bow down to other gods, and serve them; (18) I have declared to you today that you shall certainly perish. You shall not prolong your days in the land to which you are crossing the Jordan, to go in there to possess it. (19) I call Heaven and earth to witness against you today that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse. Therefore, choose life, that you may live, you and your seed, (20) to love Jehovah ( יהוה )
your God, to listen to His voice, and to cleave to Him. For He is your life, and the length of your days so that you may live in the land which Jehovah ( יהוה )
has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give it to them. [Gal 3:26-29]
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 GW
Today I offer you life and prosperity or death and destruction.
(16) This is what I'm commanding you today: Love the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, follow his directions, and obey his commands, laws, and rules. Then you will live, your population will increase, and the LORD ( יהוה ) your God will bless you in the land that you're about to enter and take possession of. (17) But your hearts might turn away, and you might not listen. You might be tempted to bow down to other gods and worship them. (18) If you do, I tell you today that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live for a long time in the land that you're going to take possession of when you cross the Jordan River. (19) I call on heaven and earth as witnesses today that I have offered you life or death, blessings or curses. Choose life so that you and your descendants will live. (20) Love the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, obey him, and be loyal to him. This will be your way of life, and it will mean a long life for you in the land that the LORD ( יהוה ) swore to give to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. [Gal 3:26-29]
Deuteronomy 30:16-20 ASV
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;
(16) in that I command thee this day to love Jehovah ( יהוה )
thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his ordinances, that thou mayest live and multiply, and that Jehovah ( יהוה )
thy God may bless thee in the land whither thou goest in to possess it. (17) But if thy heart turn away, and thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them; (18) I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish; ye shall not prolong your days in the land, whither thou passest over the Jordan to go in to possess it. (19) I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that I have set before thee life and death, the blessing and the curse: therefore choose life, that thou mayest live, thou and thy seed; (20) to love Jehovah ( יהוה )
thy God, to obey his voice, and to cleave unto him; for he is thy life, and the length of thy days; that thou mayest dwell in the land which Jehovah ( יהוה )
sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them. [Gal 3:26-29]
Deuteronomy 30:15-20 BBE
See, I have put before you today, life and good, and death and evil;
(16) In giving you orders today to have love for the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, to go in his ways and keep his laws and his orders and his decisions, so that you may have life and be increased, and that the blessing of the LORD ( יהוה ) your God may be with you in the land where you are going, the land of your heritage. (17) But if your heart is turned away and your ear is shut, and you go after those who would make you servants and worshippers of other gods: (18) I give witness against you this day that destruction will certainly be your fate, and your days will be cut short in the land where you are going, the land of your heritage on the other side of Jordan. (19) Let heaven and earth be my witnesses against you this day that I have put before you life and death, a blessing and a curse: so take life for yourselves and for your seed: (20) In loving the LORD ( יהוה ) your God, hearing his voice and being true to him: for he is your life and by him will your days be long: so that you may go on living in the land which the LORD ( יהוה ) gave by an oath to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
