Genesis 18:20-33 CEV ...The LORD [יהוה] said, "Abraham, I have heard that the people of Sodom and Gomorrah are doing all kinds of evil things. (21) Now I am going down to see for myself if those people really are that bad. If they aren't, I want to know about it." (22) The men turned and started toward Sodom. But the LORD [] stayed with Abraham, (23) who asked, "LORD [], when you destroy the evil people, are you also going to destroy those who are good? (24) Wouldn't you spare the city if there are only fifty good people in it? (25) You surely wouldn't let them be killed when you destroy the evil ones. You are the judge of all the earth, and you do what is right." (26) The LORD [] replied, "If I find fifty good people in Sodom, I will save the city to keep them from being killed." (27) Abraham answered, "I am nothing more than the dust of the earth. Please forgive me, LORD [], for daring to speak to you like this. (28) But suppose there are only forty-five good people in Sodom. Would you still wipe out the whole city?" "If I find forty-five good people," the LORD [] replied, "I won't destroy the city." (29) "Suppose there are just forty good people?" Abraham asked. "Even for them," the LORD [] replied, "I won't destroy the city." (30) Abraham said, "Please don't be angry, LORD [], if I ask you what you will do if there are only thirty good people in the city." "If I find thirty," the LORD [] replied, "I still won't destroy it." (31) Then Abraham said, "I don't have any right to ask you, LORD [], but what would you do if you find only twenty?" "Because of them, I won't destroy the city," was the LORD's [] answer. (32) Finally, Abraham said, "Please don't get angry, LORD [], if I speak just once more. Suppose you find only ten good people there." "For the sake of ten good people," the LORD [] told him, "I still won't destroy the city." (33) After speaking with Abraham, the LORD left, and Abraham went back home.
Genesis 18:20-33 NWT ...Consequently Jehovah [יהוה] said: “The cry of complaint about Sod´om and Go·mor´rah, yes, it is loud, and their sin, yes, it is very heavy. 21 I am quite determined to go down that I may see whether they act altogether according to the outcry over it that has come to me, and, if not, I can get to know it.”
22 At this point the men turned from there and got on their way to Sodom; but as for Jehovah [], he was still standing before Abraham. 23 Then Abraham approached and began to say: "Will you really sweep away the righteous with the wicked? 24 Suppose there are fifty righteous men in the midst of the city. Will you, then, sweep them away and not pardon the place for the sake of the fifty righteous who are inside it? 25 It is unthinkable of you that you are acting in this manner to put to death the righteous man with the wicked one so that it has to occur with the righteous man as it does with the wicked! It is unthinkable of you. Is the Judge of all the earth not going to do what is right?" 26 Then Jehovah [] said: "If I shall find in Sodom fifty righteous men in the midst of the city I will pardon the whole place on their account." 27 But Abraham went on to answer and say: "Please, here I have taken upon myself to speak to Jehovah [], whereas I am dust and ashes. 28 Suppose the fifty righteous should be lacking five. Will you for the five bring the whole city to ruin?" To this he said: "I shall not bring it to ruin if I find there forty-five." 29 But yet again he spoke further to him and said: "Suppose forty are found there." In turn he said: "I shall not do it on account of the forty." 30 But he continued: "May Jehovah [], please, not grow hot with anger, but let me go on speaking: Suppose thirty are found there." In turn he said: "I shall not do it if I find thirty there." 31 But he continued on: "Please, here I have taken upon myself to speak to Jehovah []: Suppose twenty are found there." In turn he said: "I shall not bring it to ruin on account of the twenty." 32 Finally he said: "May Jehovah [], please, not grow hot with anger, but let me speak just this once: Suppose ten are found there." In turn he said: "I shall not bring it to ruin on account of the ten." 33 Then Jehovah [] went his way when he had finished speaking to Abraham, and Abraham returned to his place.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
