There is a shocking statement by God's faithful servant Lot here. He offers his two virgin daughters to placate the mob at his door. Some have asserted he did that in an attempt to shock the mob back from their frenzy. The Bible does not say that. God knows! God is perfect, Lot was not...
Genesis 19:4-11 ESV But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, both young and old, all the people to the last man, surrounded the house. (5) And they called to Lot, "Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them [rape them]." (6) Lot went out to the men at the entrance, shut the door after him, (7) and said, "I beg you, my brothers, do not act so wickedly. (8) Behold, I have two daughters who have not known any man. Let me bring them out to you, and do to them as you please. Only do nothing to these men, for they have come under the shelter of my roof." (9) But they said, "Stand back!" And they said, "This fellow came to sojourn, and he has become the judge! Now we will deal worse with you than with them." Then they pressed hard against the man Lot, and drew near to break the door down. (10) But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them and shut the door. (11) And they struck with blindness the men who were at the entrance of the house, both small and great, so that they wore themselves out groping for the door.
Genesis 19:4-11 MKJV But before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both old and young, all the people from every quarter. (5) And they called to Lot, and said to him, Where are the men which came in to you this night? Bring them out to us, that we may know them. (6) And Lot went out to the door to them, and shut the door after him. (7) And he said, I pray you, brothers, do not act evilly. (8) Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man. I pray you, let me bring them out to you, and you do to them as you see fit. But do nothing to these men, for this is why they came under the shadow of my roof. (9) And they said, Stand back! And they said, This one came in to stay, and must he judge always? Now we will deal worse with you than with them. And they pressed hard upon the man, Lot, and came near to breaking the door. (10) But the men put out their hands and brought Lot into the house to them, and shut the door. (11) And they smote the men that were at the door of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves to find the door.
Genesis 19:4-11 CEV Before Lot and his guests could go to bed, every man in Sodom, young and old, came and stood outside his house (5) and started shouting, "Where are your visitors? Send them out, so we can have sex with them!" (6) Lot went outside and shut the door behind him. (7) Then he said, "Friends, please don't do such a terrible thing! (8) I have two daughters who have never been married. I'll bring them out, and you can do what you want with them. But don't harm these men. They are guests in my home." (9) "Don't get in our way," the crowd answered. "You're an outsider. What right do you have to order us around? We'll do worse things to you than we're going to do to them." The crowd kept arguing with Lot. Finally, they rushed toward the door to break it down. (10) But the two angels in the house reached out and pulled Lot safely inside. (11) Then they struck everyone in the crowd blind, and none of them could even find the door.
Genesis 19:4-11 GNB Before the guests went to bed, the men of Sodom surrounded the house. All the men of the city, both young and old, were there. (5) They called out to Lot and asked, "Where are the men who came to stay with you tonight? Bring them out to us!" The men of Sodom wanted to have sex with them. (6) Lot went outside and closed the door behind him. (7) He said to them, "Friends, I beg you, don't do such a wicked thing! (8) Look, I have two daughters who are still virgins. Let me bring them out to you, and you can do whatever you want with them. But don't do anything to these men; they are guests in my house, and I must protect them." (9) But they said, "Get out of our way, you foreigner! Who are you to tell us what to do? Out of our way, or we will treat you worse than them." They pushed Lot back and moved up to break down the door. (10) But the two men inside reached out, pulled Lot back into the house, and shut the door. (11) Then they struck all the men outside with blindness, so that they couldn't find the door.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
