Genesis 6:4-8 ESV The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. (5) The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (6) And the LORD was sorry that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. (7) So the LORD said, "I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them." (8) But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.

Genesis 6:4-8 GNB In those days, and even later, there were giants on the earth who were descendants of human women and the heavenly beings. They were the great heroes and famous men of long ago. (5) When the LORD saw how wicked everyone on earth was and how evil their thoughts were all the time, (6) he was sorry that he had ever made them and put them on the earth. He was so filled with regret (7) that he said, "I will wipe out these people I have created, and also the animals and the birds, because I am sorry that I made any of them." (8) But the LORD was pleased with Noah.

Genesis 6:4-8 CEV The children of the supernatural beings who had married these women became famous heroes and warriors. They were called Nephilim and lived on the earth at that time and even later. (5) The LORD saw how bad the people on earth were and that everything they thought and planned was evil. (6) He was very sorry that he had made them, (7) and he said, "I'll destroy every living creature on earth! I'll wipe out people, animals, birds, and reptiles. I'm sorry I ever made them." (8) But the LORD was pleased with Noah,

(5) And Jehovah  ( יהוה ) saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day long. (6) And Jehovah  ( יהוה ) repented that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved to His heart. (7) And Jehovah  ( יהוה ) said, I will wipe off man whom I have created from the face of the earth, from man to beast, to the creeping thing and to the birds of the heavens; for I repent that I made them. (8) And Noah found grace in the eyes of Jehovah  ( יהוה ).
