Habakkuk 2:2-3 NWT
2 And Jehovah () proceeded to answer me and to say: "Write down [the] vision, and set [it] out plainly upon tablets, in order that the one reading aloud from it may do so fluently. 3 For [the] vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 YLT
(2) And Jehovah ( יהוה ) answereth me and saith: `Write a vision, and explain on the tables, That he may run who is reading it.
(3) For yet the vision is for a season, And it breatheth for the end, and doth not lie, If it tarry, wait for it, For surely it cometh, it is not late.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 ASV
(2) And Jehovah () answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tablets, that he may run that readeth it.
(3) For the vision is yet for the appointed time, and it hasteth toward the end, and shall not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not delay.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Contemporary English Version
(2) Then the LORD ( יהוה ) told me: "I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance.
(3) At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting-- it will happen!
Please note above, the otherwise excellent "Contemporary English Version" Bible translation uses "LORD" for God's personal name "יהוה" at Habakkuk 2:2, as does the King James version and some other translations. You can also see below from the King James version with Strong's numbers, we find "LORD" with the Strong's associated number of 3068, appearing again at Exodus 6:3 where it is translated Jehovah; thus showing both LORD and Jehovah should have been . The personal name of (given the reference number 3068 by Dr. Strong) appears over 6000 times in the original language Bible. It would thus seem important to God for us to know his name, as well as the name of his son! (Pro 30:4)

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
ALT - Analytical Literal Translation
ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).
Darby - 1889 Darby Bible
DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible
BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English
LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible
KJV - King James Version
MKJV - Modern King James Version
NWT - New World Translation
Webster - 1833 Webster Bible
RV - Revised Version
YLT - Young's Literal Translation
