Hebrews 10:4-10 GNB . . .For the blood of bulls and goats can never take away sins. (5) For this reason, when Christ was about to come into the world, he said to God: "You do not want sacrifices and offerings, but you have prepared a body for me. (6) You are not pleased with animals burned whole on the altar or with sacrifices to take away sins. (7) Then I said, 'Here I am, to do your will, O God, just as it is written of me in the book of the Law.' " (8) First he said, "You neither want nor are you pleased with sacrifices and offerings or with animals burned on the altar and the sacrifices to take away sins." He said this even though all these sacrifices are offered according to the Law. (9) Then he said, "Here I am, O God, to do your will." So God does away with all the old sacrifices and puts the sacrifice of Christ in their place. (10) Because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do, we are all purified from sin by the offering that he made of his own body once and for all.

(6) You did not approve of burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin.' (7) Then I said, 'I have come! (It is written about me in the scroll of the book.) I have come to do what you want, my God.'" (8) In this passage Christ first said, "You did not want sacrifices, offerings, burnt offerings, and sacrifices for sin. You did not approve of them." (These are the sacrifices that Moses' Teachings require people to offer.) (9) Then Christ says, "I have come to do what you want." He did away with sacrifices in order to establish the obedience that God wants. (10) We have been set apart as holy because Jesus Christ did what God wanted him to do by sacrificing his body once and for all.
Hebrews 10:3-10 CEV . . .But the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins. It only reminds people of their sins from one year to the next. (4) (SEE 10:3) (5) When Christ came into the world, he said to God, "Sacrifices and offerings are not what you want, but you have given me my body. (6) No, you are not pleased with animal sacrifices and offerings for sin." (7) Then Christ said, "And so, my God, I have come to do what you want, as the Scriptures say." (8) The Law teaches that offerings and sacrifices must be made because of sin. But why did Christ mention these things and say that God did not want them? (9) Well, it was to do away with offerings and sacrifices and to replace them. That is what he meant by saying to God, "I have come to do what you want." (10) So we are made holy because Christ obeyed God and offered himself once for all.

(5) So that when he comes into the world, he says, You had no desire for offerings, but you made a body ready for me; (6) You had no joy in burned offerings or in offerings for sin. (7) Then I said, See, I have come to do your pleasure, O God as it is said of me in the roll of the book. (8) After saying, You had no desire for offerings, for burned offerings or offerings for sin which are made by the law and you had no pleasure in them, (9) Then he said, See, I have come to do your pleasure. He took away the old order, so that he might put the new order in its place. (10) By that pleasure we have been made holy, by the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once and for ever.
