Isaiah 28:14-19 GNB Now you arrogant leaders who rule here in Jerusalem (The ancient city of Jerusalem represented God's connection with ancient mankind. In modern times, He is connected to humankind through Christ and those who profess they are his followers.) over this people, listen to what the LORD is saying. (15) You boast that you have made a treaty with death and reached an agreement with the world of the dead. You are certain that disaster will spare you when it comes, because you depend on lies and deceit to keep you safe. (16) This, now, is what the Sovereign LORD says: "I am placing in Zion a foundation that is firm and strong. In it I am putting a solid cornerstone on which are written the words, 'Faith that is firm is also patient.' (17) Justice will be the measuring line for the foundation, and honesty will be its plumb line." Hailstorms will sweep away all the lies you depend on, and floods will destroy your security. (18) The treaty you have made with death will be abolished, and your agreement with the world of the dead will be canceled. When disaster sweeps down, you will be overcome. (19) It will strike you again and again, morning after morning. You will have to bear it day and night. Each new message from God (the destruction all around) will bring new terror (for the wicked)!
Isaiah 28:14-19 MKJV Therefore hear the Word of Jehovah, scornful men who rule this people in Jerusalem. (The ancient city of Jerusalem represented God's connection with ancient mankind. In modern times, He is connected to humankind through Christ and those who profess they are his followers.) (15) Because you have said, We have made a covenant with death, and we have made a vision with hell; when the overwhelming rod shall pass through, it shall not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and we have hidden ourselves under falsehood, (16) therefore so says the Lord Jehovah, Behold, I place in Zion a Stone for a foundation, a tried Stone, a precious Cornerstone, a sure Foundation; he who believes shall not hurry. (17) Also I will lay judgment to the line, and righteousness to the plummet; and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. (18) And your covenant with death shall be wiped out, and your vision with hell shall not stand; when the overwhelming rod shall pass through, then you shall be beaten down by it. (19) From the time that it goes out it shall take you; for morning by morning it shall pass over, by day and by night; and it shall be only a terror to understand the message.
Isaiah 28:14-19 GW So hear the word of the LORD, you foolish talkers who rule the people in Jerusalem. (The ancient city of Jerusalem represented God's connection with ancient mankind. In modern times, He is connected to humankind through Christ and those who profess they are his followers.) (15) You say, "We made a treaty with death and an agreement with the grave. When the overwhelming disaster passes by, it won't matter to us, because we have taken refuge in our lies, and falsehood is our hiding place." (16) This is what the Almighty LORD says: I am going to lay a rock in Zion, a rock that has been tested, a precious cornerstone, a solid foundation. Whoever believes in him will not worry. (17) I will make justice a measuring line and righteousness a plumb line. Hail will sweep away your refuge of lies, and floodwaters will wash away your hiding place. (18) Your treaty with death will be wiped away. Your agreement with the grave will not stand. When the overwhelming disaster passes by, you will be trampled by it. (19) Each time it passes by it will take you. It will pass by morning after morning, during the day and during the night. Understanding this message brings only terror.
Isaiah 28:14-19 ESV Therefore hear the word of the LORD, you scoffers, who rule this people in Jerusalem! (The ancient city of Jerusalem represented God's connection with ancient mankind. In modern times, He is connected to humankind through Christ and those who profess they are his followers.) (15) Because you have said, "We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have an agreement, when the overwhelming whip passes through it will not come to us, for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter"; (16) therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am the one who has laid as a foundation in Zion, a stone, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone, of a sure foundation: 'Whoever believes will not be in haste.' (17) And I will make justice the line, and righteousness the plumb line; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the shelter." (18) Then your covenant with death will be annulled, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand; when the overwhelming scourge passes through, you will be beaten down by it. (19) As often as it passes through it will take you; for morning by morning it will pass through, by day and by night; and it will be sheer terror to understand the message.
Isaiah 28:14-19 BBE Give ear then to the word of the Lord, you men of pride, the rulers of this people in Jerusalem: (The ancient city of Jerusalem represented God's connection with ancient mankind. In modern times, He is connected to humankind through Christ and those who profess they are his followers.) (15) Because you have said, We have made death our friend, and with the underworld we have made an agreement; when the overflowing waters come through they will not come near us; for we are looking to false words for help, taking cover in what is untrue: (16) For this cause says the Lord God, See, I am placing in Zion as a base, a stone, a tested stone, an angle-stone which is certain and of great value: and he who has faith will not give way. (17) And I will make right decision the measuring-line, and righteousness the weight: and the ice-storm will take away the safe place of false words, and the secret place will be covered by the flowing waters. (18) And the help you were looking for from death will come to nothing, and your agreement with the underworld will be broken; when the overflowing waters come through, then you will be overcome by them. (19) Whenever they come through they will overtake you; for they will come through morning after morning, by day and by night: and the news will be nothing but fear.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
