Isaiah 42:1-4 GNB
The LORD says, "Here is my servant, whom I strengthen--- the one I have chosen, with whom I am pleased. I have filled him with my Spirit, and he will bring justice to every nation. (2) He will not shout or raise his voice or make loud speeches in the streets. (3) He will not break off a bent reed nor put out a flickering lamp. He will bring lasting justice to all. (4) He will not lose hope or courage; he will establish justice on the earth. Distant lands eagerly wait for his teaching."
Isaiah 42:1-4 BBE
(1) See my servant, whom I [the LORD] am supporting, my loved one, in whom I take delight: I have put my spirit on him; he will give the knowledge of the true God to the nations.
(2) He will make no cry, his voice will not be loud: his words will not come to men's ears in the streets.
(3) He will not let a crushed stem be quite broken, and he will not let a feebly burning light be put out: he will go on sending out the true word to the peoples.
(4) His light will not be put out, and he will not be crushed, till he has given the knowledge of the true God to the earth, and the sea-lands will be waiting for his teaching.
Isaiah 42:1-4 GW
Here is my servant, whom I [the LORD] support. Here is my chosen one, with whom I am pleased. I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations. (2) He will not cry out or raise his voice. He will not make his voice heard in the streets. (3) He will not break off a damaged cattail. He will not even put out a smoking wick. He will faithfully bring about justice. (4) He will not be discouraged or crushed until he has set up justice on the earth. The coastlands will wait for his teachings.
Isaiah 42:1-4 LITV
(1) Behold My Servant; I [the LORD] will uphold Him; My Elect in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring forth justice to the nations.
(2) He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
(3) A bruised reed He shall not break, and a smoking wick He shall not quench; He shall bring forth justice to truth.
(4) He shall not fail nor be crushed until He has set justice in the earth; and the coasts shall wait for His Law.
Isaiah 42:1-4 CEV
(1) Here is my servant! I [the LORD] have made him strong. He is my chosen one; I am pleased with him. I have given him my Spirit, and he will bring justice to the nations.
(2) He won't shout or yell or call out in the streets.
(3) He won't break off a bent reed or put out a dying flame, but he will make sure that justice is done.
(4) He won't quit or give up until he brings justice everywhere on earth, and people in foreign nations long for his teaching.
Isaiah 42:1-4 NWT
42 Look! My servant, on whom I [the LORD] keep fast hold! My chosen one, [whom] my soul has approved! I have put my spirit in him. Justice to the nations is what he will bring forth. 2 He will not cry out or raise [his voice], and in the street he will not let his voice be heard. 3 No crushed reed will he break; and as for a dim flaxen wick, he will not extinguish it. In trueness he will bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow dim nor be crushed until he sets justice in the earth itself; and for his law the islands themselves will keep waiting.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
ALT - Analytical Literal Translation
ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).
