Isaiah 42:1-9 MWT - With God's Divine Name restored.
(1) Here is my servant (speaking prophetically of Jesus Christ), whom I support. He is my chosen one, with whom I am pleased. I have put my Spirit on him. (Mat 3:16-17) He will bring justice to the nations.
(2) He will not cry out or raise his voice. He will not be boistrous in the streets.
(3) He will not crush a damaged cattail. He will not put out a smoldering wick. He will faithfully bring justice for all.
(4) He will not be discouraged or crushed until he has set up justice on the earth. The coastlands will wait for his teachings.
(5) The LORD God יהוה created the heavens and stretched them out. He shaped the earth and all that comes from it. He gave life to the people who are on it and breath to those who walk on it. This is what יהוה says:
(6) I, יהוה, have called you to do what is right. I will take hold of your hand. I will protect you. I will appoint you as my promise to the people, as my light to the nations.
(7) You will give sight to the blind, bring captives out of prisons, and bring those who live without hope out of the dungeons of darkness.
(8) I am יהוה; that is my name. I will not give my glory to anyone else or the praise I deserve to idols.
(9) “The first things—here they have come, but new things I am telling out. Before they begin to spring up, I cause YOU people to hear [them].”

(4) He will not be discouraged or crushed until he has set up justice on the earth. The coastlands will wait for his teachings.

(7) You will give sight to the blind, bring prisoners out of prisons, and bring those who live in darkness out of dungeons.
(8) I am the LORD (יהוה); that is my name. I will not give my glory to anyone else or the praise I deserve to idols.
(9) What I said in the past has come true. I will reveal new things before they happen.
Isaiah 42:1-9 LITV
(1) Behold My Servant; I will uphold Him; My Elect in whom My soul delights! I have put My Spirit on Him; He shall bring forth justice to the nations.
(2) He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause His voice to be heard in the street.
(3) A bruised reed He shall not break, and a smoking wick He shall not quench; He shall bring forth justice to truth.
(4) He shall not fail nor be crushed until He has set justice in the earth; and the coasts shall wait for His Law.
(5) So says Jehovah (יהוה) ; God, creating the heavens and stretching them out; spreading out the earth and its offspring, giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it.
(6) I, Jehovah ( יהוה ), have called You in righteousness, and will hold Your hand, and will keep You, and give You for a covenant of the people, for a Light of the nations;
(7) to open blind eyes, to lead out the prisoner from the prison; those who sit in darkness from the prison.
(8) I am Jehovah ( יהוה ); that is My name; and I will not give My glory to another, nor My praise to engraved images.
(9) Behold, the former things have come to pass, and I declare new things before they happen, I cause you to hear.
Isaiah 42:1-9 ASV
(1) Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delighteth: I have put my Spirit upon him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles.
(2) He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.
(3) A bruised reed will he not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth.
(4) He will not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law.
(5) Thus saith God Jehovah (יהוה), he that created the heavens, and stretched them forth; he that spread abroad the earth and that which cometh out of it; he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
(6) I, Jehovah ( יהוה ) ; , have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thy hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;
(7) to open the blind eyes, to bring out the prisoners from the dungeon, and them that sit in darkness out of the prison-house.
(8) I am Jehovah ( יהוה ); that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.
(9) Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Isaiah 42:1-9 NWT
42 Look! My servant, on whom I keep fast hold! My chosen one, [whom] my soul has approved! I have put my spirit in him. Justice to the nations is what he will bring forth. 2 He will not cry out or raise [his voice], and in the street he will not let his voice be heard. 3 No crushed reed will he break; and as for a dim flaxen wick, he will not extinguish it. In trueness he will bring forth justice. 4 He will not grow dim nor be crushed until he sets justice in the earth itself; and for his law the islands themselves will keep waiting. 5 This is what the [true] God, Jehovah (יהוה), has said, the Creator of the heavens and the Grand One stretching them out; the One laying out the earth and its produce, the One giving breath to the people on it, and spirit to those walking in it: 6 "I myself, Jehovah ( יהוה ), have called you in righteousness, and I proceeded to take hold of your hand. And I shall safeguard you and give you as a covenant of the people, as a light of the nations, 7 [for you] to open the blind eyes, to bring forth out of the dungeon the prisoner, out of the house of detention those sitting in darkness. 8 "I am Jehovah ( יהוה ). That is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images. 9 “The first things—here they have come, but new things I am telling out. Before they begin to spring up, I cause YOU people to hear [them].”
Isaiah 42:1-8 Darby
(1) Behold my servant whom I uphold, mine elect in whom my soul delighteth! I will put my Spirit upon him; he shall bring forth judgment to the nations.
(2) He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
(3) A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment according to truth.
(4) He shall not faint nor be in haste, till he have set justice in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
(5) Thus saith *God, Jehovah ( יהוה ) ; , he that created the heavens and stretched them out, he that spread forth the earth and its productions, he that giveth breath unto the people upon it, and spirit to them that walk therein:
(6) I, Jehovah ( יהוה ) ; , have called thee in righteousness, and will take hold of thy hand; and I will preserve thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the nations,
(7) to open the blind eyes, to bring forth the prisoner from the prison, them that sit in darkness out of the house of restraint.
(8) I am Jehovah ( יהוה ), that is my name; and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
ALT - Analytical Literal Translation
ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).
Darby - 1889 Darby Bible
