The Spirit anoints the Messiah to proclaim good news, bind up the brokenhearted, and comfort all who mourn.
Isaiah 61:1-3 NIV . . .The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD (יהוה) is on me, because the LORD (יהוה) has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, (2) to proclaim the year of the LORD (יהוה)'s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, (3) and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD (יהוה) for the display of his splendor.
Isaiah 61:1-3 WEB . . .The Spirit of the Lord Yahweh is on me; because Yahweh has anointed me to preach good news to the humble. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and release to those who are bound; (2) to proclaim the year of Yahweh’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; (3) to provide for those who mourn in Zion, to give to them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of Yahweh, that he may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3 ESV . . .The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD (יהוה) has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; (2) to proclaim the year of the LORD (יהוה)'s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; (3) to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD (יהוה), that he may be glorified.
Isaiah 61:1-3 GNB . . .The Sovereign LORD (יהוה) has filled me with his Spirit. He has chosen me and sent me To bring good news to the poor, To heal the broken-hearted, To announce release to captives And freedom to those in prison. (2) He has sent me to proclaim That the time has come When the LORD (יהוה) will save his people And defeat their enemies. He has sent me to comfort all who mourn, (3) To give to those who mourn in Zion Joy and gladness instead of grief, A song of praise instead of sorrow. They will be like trees That the LORD (יהוה) himself has planted. They will all do what is right, And God will be praised for what he has done.
Isaiah 61:1-3 CEV . . .The Spirit of the LORD (יהוה) God has taken control of me! The LORD (יהוה) has chosen and sent me to tell the oppressed the good news, to heal the brokenhearted, and to announce freedom for prisoners and captives. (2) This is the year when the LORD (יהוה) God will show kindness to us and punish our enemies. The LORD (יהוה) has sent me to comfort those who mourn, (3) especially in Jerusalem. He sent me to give them a crown in place of ashes, and the oil of gladness in place of sorrow, and clothes of praise in place of a heavy, sad spirit. Then they will be called Trees of Justice, trees planted by the LORD (יהוה) to show his glory.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
