John 16:22-28 BBE
(22) So you have sorrow now: but I will see you again, and your hearts will be glad, and no one will take away your joy. (23) And on that day you will put no questions to me. Truly I say to you, Whatever request you make to the Father, he will give it to you in my name. (24) Up to now you have made no request in my name: do so, and it will be answered, so that your hearts may be full of joy. (25) All this I have said to you in veiled language: but the time is coming when I will no longer say things in veiled language but will give you knowledge of the Father clearly. (26) In that day you will make requests in my name: and I do not say that I will make prayer to the Father for you, (27) For the Father himself gives his love to you, because you have given your love to me and have had faith that I came from God. (28) I came out from the Father and have come into the world: again, I go away from the world and go to the Father.

John 16:22-28 CEV
(22) You are now very sad. But later I will see you, and you will be so happy that no one will be able to change the way you feel. (23) When that time comes, you won't have to ask me about anything. I tell you for certain that the Father will give you whatever you ask for in my name. (24) You have not asked for anything in this way before, but now you must ask in my name. Then it will be given to you, so that you will be completely happy. (25) I have used examples to explain to you what I have been talking about. But the time will come when I will speak to you plainly about the Father and will no longer use examples like these. (26) You will ask the Father in my name, and I won't have to ask him for you. (27) God the Father loves you because you love me, and you believe that I have come from him. (28) I came from the Father into the world, but I am leaving the world and returning to the Father.

John 16:22-28 LITV
(22) And you, then, truly have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one takes your joy from you. (23) And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Truly, truly, I say to you, Whatever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give you. (24) Until now you asked nothing in My name; ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be full. (25) I have spoken these things to you in allegories. An hour comes when I will no longer speak to you in allegories, but I will reveal the Father plainly to you. (26) In that day you will ask in My name, and I do not tell you that I will petition the Father about you; (27) for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came out from God. (28) I came out from the Father and have come into the world; I leave the world again and go to the Father.

John 16:22-28 NWT
22 You also, therefore, are now, indeed, having grief; but I shall see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you. 23 And in that day you will ask me no question at all. Most truly I say to you, If you ask the Father for anything he will give it to you in my name. 24 Until this present time you have not asked a single thing in my name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be made full. 25 "I have spoken these things to you in comparisons. The hour is coming when I will speak to you no more in comparisons, but I will report to you with plainness concerning the Father. 26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I shall make request of the Father concerning you. 27 For the Father himself has affection for you, because you have had affection for me and have believed that I came out as the Father's representative. 28 I came out from the Father and have come into the world. Further, I am leaving the world and am going my way to the Father."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
