Those who choose to follow Christ are born from God's will because no one can come to God without being led there by his Father. (John 6:44) God first looks for all the righteous in all the earth, (2 Chron 16:9) and then, He drags each one to the teachings of His Son. (Mat 11:27-30)
John 1:1-18 MWT . . .In the beginning was the one who is called the Word. The Word was with God and the Word was a God. (2) This one was in the beginning with God. (3) With this Word, God created all other things. Not even one thing was made without the Word. (4) What came into existence received its life from him, and his life gave light to everyone. (5) And the light keeps shining in the dark, and darkness has never put it out. (6) There was a man named John who was sent by God, (7) he came to tell about the light and to encourage people to have faith through that light. (8) John wasn't that light. He came only to announce his coming. (9) The true light that illuminates every person was about to come into the world. (10) The Word was in the world, the world which God made through him, but no one knew him. (11) He came to his own nation, but his own people did not welcome him. (12) But as many as did accept him, and put their faith in his name, to them he gave the right to be the children of God. (13) They were not made God's children by birthright of blood, or because of any human desires. By God's own efforts they were made His children. (14) The Word became human and lived among us. We saw his glory. It was the glory that the Father shares with his only Son, a glory full of kindness and truth. (15) (John declared the truth about him when he said loudly, "This is the person about whom I said, 'The one who comes after me was before me because he existed before I did.'") (16) Each of us has received one gift after another because of all that the Word is. (17) The Law was given through Moses, but kindness and truth came into existence through Jesus Christ. (18) No one has ever seen God. God's only Son, the one who is closest to the Father's heart, has made him known.

John 1:1-18 ALT . . .In the beginning was the Word [or, the Expression of [divine] Logic], and the Word was with [or, in communion with] God, and the Word was God [or, was as to His essence God]. (2) This One was in the beginning with God. (3) All [things] came to be through Him, and without Him not even one thing came to be which has come to be. (4) In Him was life, and the life was the light of the people. (5) And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not apprehend it. (6) There came a man having been sent from God, [the] name to him [fig., whose name] [was] John. (7) This one came for a testimony, so that he should testify concerning the Light, so that all should believe through him. (8) That one was not the Light, but [he came] so that he should testify concerning the Light. (9) He was the true Light which enlightens every person coming into the world. (10) He was in the world, and the world came to be through Him, and the world did not know Him. (11) He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. (12) But as many as received Him, He gave to them authority to become children of God—to the ones believing [or, trusting] in His name, (13) who were begotten, not from [or, by] bloods, nor from a will of flesh, nor from a will of a man, but from God. (14) And the Word [or, the Expression of [divine] Logic] became flesh and tabernacled among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of an only-begotten [or, uniquely-begotten] from [the] Father, full of grace and truth. (15) John testifies concerning Him and has cried out, saying, "This was [the One concerning] whom I said, 'The One coming after me before me has come to be, for He was before me.'" (16) And out of His fullness we all received, even grace in place of grace. (17) For the law was given through Moses: grace and truth came to be through Jesus Christ. (18) No one has seen God at any time. The only-begotten [or, unique] Son, the One in the bosom of the Father, that One explained [Him] [or, made [Him] known].

(3) All things were made by it, and without it, was made no thing, that made was. (4) In it was life, And life was the light of men, (5) And the light shineth in the darkness, and darkness comprehended it not. (6) There was a man sent from god, whose name was Ihon. (7) The same came as a witness, to bear witness of the light, that all men through him might believe. (8) He was not that light: but to bear witness of the light. (9) That was a true light, which lighteneth all men that come into the world. (10) He was in the world, and the world by him was made: and the world knew him not. (11) He came among his own, and his received him not. (12) Unto as many as received him, gave he power to be the sons of god: in that they believed on his name: (13) which were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor yet of the will of man: but of god. (14) And that word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw the glory of it, as the glory of the only begotten son of the father, which word was full of grace, and verity. (15) Ihon bare witness of him saying: This was he of whom I spake, he that cometh after me, was before me because he was yer then I. (16) And of his fullness have all we received, even favour for favour. (17) For the law was given by Moses, but favour and verity came by Iesus Christ. (18) No man saw god at any time. The only begotten son, which is in the father's bosom, hath declared him.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us.
