John 1:1-9 ALT In the beginning was the Word [or, the Expression of [divine] Logic], and the Word was with [or, in communion with] God, and the Word was God [or, was as to His essence God]. (2) This One was in the beginning with God. (3) All [things] came to be through Him, and without Him not even one thing came to be which has come to be. John 1:1 is a verse it seems most translators had some trouble with. Most of us don't speak or certainly read ancient Hebrew or Greek. We must, therefore, rely on the translation works that exist in our own language. For those who want to believe in a three headed God consisting of Jesus and his Father and the Holy Spirit, they use this scripture to support it. I personally love the ALT's rendering that Jesus is the expression of the divine logic of Almighty God . (Mat 24:36; 1 Cor 15:24‑28) What wonderful words...

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek.
