John 1:25-29 CEV
(25) They asked him, "Why are you baptizing people, if you are not the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet?" (26) John told them, "I use water to baptize people. But here with you is someone you don't know. (27) Even though I came first, I am not good enough to untie his sandals." (28) John said this as he was baptizing east of the Jordan River in Bethany. (29) The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said: Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

25 So they questioned him and said to him: "Why, then, do you baptize if you yourself are not the Christ or Elijah or The Prophet?" 26 John answered them, saying: "I baptize in water. In the midst of you one is standing whom you do not know, 27 the one coming behind me, but the lace of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie." 28 These things took place in Bethany across the Jordan, where John was baptizing. 29 The next day he beheld Jesus coming toward him, and he said: "See, the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world!

(26) John's answer was: I give baptism with water; but there is one among you of whom you have no knowledge; (27) It is he who is coming after me; I am not good enough to undo his shoes. (28) These things took place at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan, where John was giving baptism. (29) The day after, John sees Jesus coming to him and says, See, here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
