John 3:1-8 GNB There was a Jewish leader named Nicodemus, who belonged to the party of the Pharisees. (2) One night he went to Jesus and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent by God. No one could perform the miracles you are doing unless God were with him." (3) Jesus answered, "I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God without being born again." (4) "How can a grown man be born again?" Nicodemus asked. "He certainly cannot enter his mother's womb and be born a second time!" (5) "I am telling you the truth," replied Jesus, "that no one can enter the Kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. [John 6:44 - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] (6) A person is born physically of human parents, but is born spiritually of the Spirit. (7) Do not be surprised because I tell you that you must all be born again. (8) The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
John 3:1-8 ESV Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. (3) Jesus answered him, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God." (4) Nicodemus said to him, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" (5) Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. [John 6:44 - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] (6) That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (7) Do not marvel that I said to you, 'You must be born again.' (8) The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
John 3:1-8 GW Nicodemus was a Pharisee and a member of the Jewish council. (2) He came to Jesus one night and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that God has sent you as a teacher. No one can perform the miracles you perform unless God is with him." (3) Jesus replied to Nicodemus, "I can guarantee this truth: No one can see the kingdom of God without being born from above." (4) Nicodemus asked him, "How can anyone be born when he's an old man? He can't go back inside his mother a second time to be born, can he?" (5) Jesus answered Nicodemus, "I can guarantee this truth: No one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and the Spirit. [John 6:44 - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] (6) Flesh and blood give birth to flesh and blood, but the Spirit gives birth to things that are spiritual. (7) Don't be surprised when I tell you that all of you must be born from above. (8) The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you don't know where the wind comes from or where it's going. That's the way it is with everyone born of the Spirit."
John 3:1-8 BBE Now there was among the Pharisees a man named Nicodemus, who was one of the rulers of the Jews. (2) He came to Jesus by night and said to him, Rabbi, we are certain that you have come from God as a teacher, because no man would be able to do these signs which you do if God was not with him. (3) Jesus said to him, Truly, I say to you, Without a new birth no man is able to see the kingdom of God. (4) Nicodemus said to him, How is it possible for a man to be given birth when he is old? Is he able to go into his mother's body a second time and come to birth again? (5) Jesus said in answer, Truly, I say to you, If a man's birth is not from water and from the Spirit, it is not possible for him to go into the kingdom of God. [John 6:44 - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] - We are born from water out of our mother. We are reborn by God's spirit when we are drawn to hear Christ.] (6) That which has birth from the flesh is flesh, and that which has birth from the Spirit is spirit. (8) The wind goes where its pleasure takes it, and the sound of it comes to your ears, but you are unable to say where it comes from and where it goes: so it is with everyone whose birth is from the Spirit.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
