John 6:28-51 GW The people asked Jesus, "What does God want us to do?" (29) Jesus replied to them, "God wants to do something for you so that you believe in the one whom he has sent." (30) The people asked him, "What miracle are you going to perform so that we can see it and believe in you? What are you going to do? (31) Our ancestors ate the manna in the desert. Scripture says, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.'" (32) Jesus said to them, "I can guarantee this truth: Moses didn't give you bread from heaven, but my Father gives you the true bread from heaven. (33) God's bread is the man who comes from heaven and gives life to the world." (34) They said to him, "Sir, give us this bread all the time." (35) Jesus told them, "I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never become hungry, and whoever believes in me will never become thirsty. (36) I've told you that you have seen me. However, you don't believe in me. (37) Everyone whom the Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me. (38) I haven't come from heaven to do what I want to do. I've come to do what the one who sent me wants me to do. (39) The one who sent me doesn't want me to lose any of those he gave me. He wants me to bring them back to life on the last day. (40) My Father wants all those who see the Son and believe in him to have eternal life. He wants me to bring them back to life on the last day." (41) The Jews began to criticize Jesus for saying, "I am the bread that came from heaven." (42) They asked, "Isn't this man Jesus, Joseph's son? Don't we know his father and mother? How can he say now, 'I came from heaven'?" (43) Jesus responded, "Stop criticizing me! (44) People cannot come to me unless the Father who sent me brings them to me. I will bring these people back to life on the last day. (45) The prophets wrote, 'God will teach everyone.' Those who do what they have learned from the Father come to me. (46) I'm saying that no one has seen the Father. Only the one who is from God has seen the Father. (47) I can guarantee this truth: Every believer has eternal life. (48) "I am the bread of life. (49) Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert and died. (50) This is the bread that comes from heaven so that whoever eats it won't die. (51) I am the living bread that came from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. The bread I will give to bring life to the world is my flesh."
John 6:28-51 GNB So they asked him, "What can we do in order to do what God wants us to do?" (29) Jesus answered, "What God wants you to do is to believe in the one he sent." (30) They replied, "What miracle will you perform so that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? (31) Our ancestors ate manna in the desert, just as the scripture says, 'He gave them bread from heaven to eat.' " (32) "I am telling you the truth," Jesus said. "What Moses gave you was not the bread from heaven; it is my Father who gives you the real bread from heaven. (33) For the bread that God gives is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world." (34) "Sir," they asked him, "give us this bread always." (35) "I am the bread of life," Jesus told them. "Those who come to me will never be hungry; those who believe in me will never be thirsty. (36) Now, I told you that you have seen me but will not believe. (37) Everyone whom my Father gives me will come to me. I will never turn away anyone who comes to me, (38) because I have come down from heaven to do not my own will but the will of him who sent me. (39) And it is the will of him who sent me that I should not lose any of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them all to life on the last day. (40) For what my Father wants is that all who see the Son and believe in him should have eternal life. And I will raise them to life on the last day." (41) The people started grumbling about him, because he said, "I am the bread that came down from heaven." (42) So they said, "This man is Jesus son of Joseph, isn't he? We know his father and mother. How, then, does he now say he came down from heaven?" (43) Jesus answered, "Stop grumbling among yourselves. (44) People cannot come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them to me; and I will raise them to life on the last day. (45) The prophets wrote, 'Everyone will be taught by God.' Anyone who hears the Father and learns from him comes to me. (46) This does not mean that anyone has seen the Father; he who is from God is the only one who has seen the Father. (47) I am telling you the truth: he who believes has eternal life. (48) I am the bread of life. (49) Your ancestors ate manna in the desert, but they died. (50) But the bread that comes down from heaven is of such a kind that whoever eats it will not die. (51) I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If you eat this bread, you will live forever. The bread that I will give you is my flesh, which I give so that the world may live."
John 6:28-51 NWT 28 Therefore they said to him: “What shall we do to work the works of God?” 29 In answer Jesus said to them: “This is the work of God, that YOU exercise faith in him whom that One sent forth.” 30 Therefore they said to him: “What, then, are you performing as a sign, in order for us to see [it] and believe you? What work are you doing? 31 Our forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness, just as it is written, ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat.’” 32 Hence Jesus said to them: “Most truly I say to YOU, Moses did not give YOU the bread from heaven, but my Father does give YOU the true bread from heaven. 33 For the bread of God is the one who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 34 Therefore they said to him: “Lord, always give us this bread.” 35 Jesus said to them: “I am the bread of life. He that comes to me will not get hungry at all, and he that exercises faith in me will never get thirsty at all. 36 But I have said to YOU, YOU have even seen me and yet do not believe. 37 Everything the Father gives me will come to me, and the one that comes to me I will by no means drive away; 38 because I have come down from heaven to do, not my will, but the will of him that sent me. 39 This is the will of him that sent me, that I should lose nothing out of all that he has given me but that I should resurrect it at the last day. 40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone that beholds the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him at the last day.” 41 Therefore the Jews began to murmur at him because he said: “I am the bread that came down from heaven”; 42 and they began saying: “Is this not Jesus the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it that now he says, ‘I have come down from heaven’?” 43 In answer Jesus said to them: “Stop murmuring among yourselves. 44 No man can come to me unless the Father, who sent me, draws him; and I will resurrect him in the last day. 45 It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by Jehovah.’ Everyone that has heard from the Father and has learned comes to me. 46 Not that any man has seen the Father, except he who is from God; this one has seen the Father. 47 Most truly I say to YOU, He that believes has everlasting life. 48 “I am the bread of life. 49 YOUR forefathers ate the manna in the wilderness and yet died. 50 This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that anyone may eat of it and not die. 51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread he will live forever; and, for a fact, the bread that I shall give is my flesh in behalf of the life of the world.”

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
