Matthew 12:43-45 NWT
43 "When an unclean spirit comes out of a man, it passes through parched places in search of a resting-place, and finds none. 44 Then it says, 'I will go back to my house out of which I moved'; and on arriving it finds it unoccupied but swept clean and adorned. 45 Then it goes its way and takes along with it seven different spirits more wicked than itself, and, after getting inside, they dwell there; and the final circumstances of that man become worse than the first. That is how it will be also with this wicked generation."
Matthew 12:43-45 BBE
(43) But the unclean spirit, when he is gone out of a man, goes through dry places looking for rest, and getting it not.
(44) Then he says, I will go back into my house from which I came out; and when he comes, he sees that there is no one in it, but that it has been made fair and clean.
(45) Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits worse than himself, and they go in and make it their living-place: and the last condition of that man is worse than the first. Even so will it be with this evil generation.
Matthew 12:43-45 CEV
(43) When an evil spirit leaves a person, it travels through the desert, looking for a place to rest. But when the demon doesn't find a place,
(44) it says, "I will go back to the home I left." When it gets there and finds the place empty, clean, and fixed up,
(45) it goes off and finds seven other evil spirits even worse than itself. They all come and make their home there, and the person ends up in worse shape than before. That's how it will be with you evil people of today.
It seems one way we can be influenced by demons, is to allow lies into our mind. When we believe a lie, we will then act out in harmony with our belief. If someone can be led to believe he will get closer to God by blowing up women and children who don't share his "faith," he will then kill others believing he is doing God's will. (John 16:1-4) If we believe drugs or immorality will make us happy, we will seek those things in our life. Learning to know the true God, and that he cares for us and wants to make us happy, is the only thing than will set us free of such demon infulence. (John 8:31-44) The Bible says satan is a liar and the father of the lie, making lies sound like his living children. (John 8:42-47) When we believe his lies, we give them life in our actions. It is the truth of the Bible which can sweep those lies from our mind, and set us free of their influence.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:
