     Please note this important point: Jesus was not here talking primarily to people who did not believe in God. He was talking to self-righteous religious people, Jewish religious people whose worship had been acceptable to God for 1500 years. You must be careful and certain your faith is in what is true. What Jesus said is truth. (John 18:37‑38) The one and only way you can gain knowledge of truth is by abandoning organized religion (Mat 7:15; Acts 20:30; 2 Tim 4:3-4) and becoming a follower of Christ. The only way you can do that is by gaining an intimate knowledge of what he taught. Just knowing and even using Jesus's name is not a protection. (Mat 7:21-23) You must really know Jesus in the only way you can; by being intimately familiar with his teachings. Jesus said those who learned what he taught made themselves his intimate family. (Mark 3:31-35; John 15:14‑15 of 11‑16)
