Matthew 24:23-35 ESV ...Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There he is!' do not believe it. (24) For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect. (25) See, I have told you beforehand. (26) So, if they say to you, 'Look, he is in the wilderness,' do not go out. If they say, 'Look, he is in the inner rooms,' do not believe it. (27) For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. (28) Wherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather. (29) "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. (30) Then will appear in heaven the sign of the Son of Man, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) And he will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (32) "From the fig tree learn its lesson: as soon as its branch becomes tender and puts out its leaves, you know that summer is near. (33) So also, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the very gates. (34) Truly, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place. (35) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away.

Matthew 24:23-35 GNB ..."Then, if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!'---do not believe it. (24) For false Messiahs and false prophets will appear; they will perform great miracles and wonders in order to deceive even God's chosen people, if possible. (25) Listen! I have told you this ahead of time. (26) "Or, if people should tell you, 'Look, he is out in the desert!'---don't go there; or if they say, 'Look, he is hiding here!'---don't believe it. (27) For the Son of Man will come like the lightning which flashes across the whole sky from the east to the west. (28) "Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather. (29) "Soon after the trouble of those days, the sun will grow dark, the moon will no longer shine, the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers in space will be driven from their courses. (30) Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky; and all the peoples of earth will weep as they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) The great trumpet will sound, and he will send out his angels to the four corners of the earth, and they will gather his chosen people from one end of the world to the other. (32) "Let the fig tree teach you a lesson. When its branches become green and tender and it starts putting out leaves, you know that summer is near. (33) In the same way, when you see all these things, you will know that the time is near, ready to begin. (34) Remember that all these things will happen before the people now living have all died. (35) Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Matthew 24:23-35 GW ..."At that time don't believe anyone who tells you, 'Here is the Messiah!' or 'There he is!' (24) False messiahs and false prophets will appear. They will work spectacular, miraculous signs and do wonderful things to deceive, if possible, even those whom God has chosen. (25) Listen! I've told you this before it happens. (26) So if someone tells you, 'He's in the desert!' don't go out looking for him. And don't believe anyone who says, 'He's in a secret place!' (27) The Son of Man will come again just as lightning flashes from east to west. (28) Vultures will gather wherever there is a dead body. (29) "Immediately after the misery of those days, the sun will turn dark, the moon will not give light, the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the universe will be shaken. (30) "Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. All the people on earth will cry in agony when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds in the sky with power and great glory. (31) He will send out his angels with a loud trumpet call, and from every direction under the sky, they will gather those whom God has chosen. (32) "Learn from the story of the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and it sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. (33) In the same way, when you see all these things, you know that he is near, at the door. (34) "I can guarantee this truth: This generation will not disappear until all these things take place. (35) The earth and the heavens will disappear, but my words will never disappear.

Matthew 24:23-35 CEV ...Someone may say, "Here is the Messiah!" or "There he is!" But don't believe it. (24) False messiahs and false prophets will come and work great miracles and signs. They will even try to fool God's chosen ones. (25) But I have warned you ahead of time. (26) If you are told that the Messiah is out in the desert, don't go there! And if you are told that he is in some secret place, don't believe it! (27) The coming of the Son of Man will be like lightning that can be seen from east to west. (28) Where there is a corpse, there will always be buzzards. (29) Right after those days of suffering, "The sun will become dark, and the moon will no longer shine. The stars will fall, and the powers in the sky will be shaken." (30) Then a sign will appear in the sky. And there will be the Son of Man. All nations on earth will weep when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (31) At the sound of a loud trumpet, he will send his angels to bring his chosen ones together from all over the earth. (32) Learn a lesson from a fig tree. When its branches sprout and start putting out leaves, you know that summer is near. (33) So when you see all these things happening, you will know that the time has almost come. (34) I can promise you that some of the people of this generation will still be alive when all this happens. (35) The sky and the earth won't last forever, but my words will.

Matthew 24:23-35 NWT ...“Then if anyone says to YOU, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’ or, ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones. 25 Look! I have forewarned YOU. 26 Therefore, if people say to YOU, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; ‘Look! He is in the inner chambers,’ do not believe it. 27 For just as the lightning comes out of eastern parts and shines over to western parts, so the presence of the Son of man will be. 28 Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together. 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 And then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound, and they will gather his chosen ones together from the four winds, from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity. 32 “Now learn from the fig tree as an illustration this point: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and it puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near. 33 Likewise also YOU, when YOU see all these things, know that he is near at the doors. 34 Truly I say to YOU that this generation will by no means pass away until all these things occur. 35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
