Proverbs 2:6-3:8 GNB It is the LORD () who gives wisdom; from him come knowledge and understanding. (7) He provides help and protection for those who are righteous and honest. (8) He protects those who treat others fairly, and guards those who are devoted to him. (9) If you listen to me, you will know what is right, just, and fair. You will know what you should do. (10) You will become wise, and your knowledge will give you pleasure. (11) Your insight and understanding will protect you (12) and prevent you from doing the wrong thing. They will keep you away from people who stir up trouble by what they say--- (13) those who have abandoned a righteous life to live in the darkness of sin, (14) those who find pleasure in doing wrong and who enjoy senseless evil, (15) unreliable people who cannot be trusted. (16) You will be able to resist any immoral woman (a religious harlot among people who teach lies - Rev 17:3-6 & 16-18 & 18:2-6; Rev 19:2; James 4:4) who tries to seduce you with her smooth talk, (17) who is faithless to her own husband and forgets her sacred vows. (18) If you go to her house, you are traveling the road to death. To go there is to approach the world of the dead. (19) No one who visits her ever comes back. He never returns to the road to life. (20) So you must follow the example of good people and live a righteous life. (21) Righteous people---people of integrity---will live in this land of ours. (22) But God will snatch the wicked from the land and pull sinners out of it like plants (weeds) from the ground. Proverbs 3:1-8 GNB My child, don't forget what I teach you. Always remember what I tell you to do. (2) My teaching will give you a long and prosperous life. (3) Never let go of loyalty and faithfulness. Tie them around your neck; write them on your heart. (4) If you do this, both God and people will be pleased with you. (5) Trust in the LORD () with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know. (6) Remember the LORD ( יהוה ) in everything you do, and he will show you the right way. (7) Never let yourself think that you are wiser than you are; simply obey the LORD ( יהוה ) and refuse to do wrong. (8) If you do, it will be like good medicine, healing your wounds and easing your pains.
Proverbs 2:6-3:8 GW The LORD () gives wisdom. From his mouth come knowledge and understanding. (7) He has reserved priceless wisdom for decent people. He is a shield for those who walk in integrity (8) in order to guard those on paths of justice and to watch over the way of his godly ones. (9) Then you will understand what is right and just and fair- every good course in life. (10) Wisdom will come into your heart. Knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. (11) Foresight will protect you. Understanding will guard you. (12) Wisdom will save you from the way of evil, from the person who speaks devious things, (13) from those who abandon the paths of righteousness to walk the ways of darkness, (14) from those who enjoy doing evil, from those who find joy in the deviousness of evil. (15) Their paths are crooked. Their ways are devious. (16) Wisdom will also save you from an adulterous woman (a harlot among religions teaching lies - Rev 17:3-6 & 16-18 & 18:2-6; Rev 19:2; James 4:4), from a loose woman with her smooth talk, (17) who leaves her husband, the closest friend of her youth, and forgets her marriage vows to her God. (18) Her house sinks down to death. Her ways lead to the souls of the dead. (19) None who have sex with her come back. Nor do they ever reach the paths of life. (20) So walk in the way of good people and stay on the paths of righteous people. (21) Decent people will live in the land. People of integrity will remain in it. (22) But wicked people will be cut off from the land and treacherous people will be torn from it. Proverbs 3:1-8 GW My son, do not forget my teachings, and keep my commands in mind, (2) because they will bring you long life, good years, and peace. (3) Do not let mercy and truth leave you. Fasten them around your neck. Write them on the tablet of your heart. (4) Then you will find favor and much success in the sight of God and humanity. (5) Trust the LORD () with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. (6) In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths smooth. (7) Do not consider yourself wise. Fear the LORD ( יהוה ), and turn away from evil. (8) Then your body will be healed, and your bones will have nourishment.
Proverbs 2:6-3:8 NWT 6 For Jehovah ( יהוה ) himself gives wisdom; out of his mouth there are knowledge and discernment. 7 And for the upright ones he will treasure up practical wisdom; for those walking in integrity he is a shield, 8 by observing the paths of judgment, and he will guard the very way of his loyal ones. 9 In that case you will understand righteousness and judgment and uprightness, the entire course of what is good.
10 When wisdom enters into your heart and knowledge itself becomes pleasant to your very soul, 11 thinking ability itself will keep guard over you, discernment itself will safeguard you, 12 to deliver you from the bad way, from the man speaking perverse things, 13 from those leaving the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, 14 from those who are rejoicing in doing bad, who are joyful in the perverse things of badness; 15 those whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their general course; 16 to deliver you from the strange woman, from the foreign woman who has made her own sayings smooth (a harlot among religions teaching lies - Rev 17:3-6 & 16-18 & 18:2-6; Rev 19:2; James 4:4), 17 who is leaving the confidential friend of her youth and who has forgotten the very covenant of her God. 18 For down to death her house does sink and down to those impotent in death her tracks. 19 None of those having relations with her will come back, nor will they regain the paths of those living. 20 The purpose is that you may walk in the way of good people and that the paths of the righteous ones you may keep. 21 For the upright are the ones that will reside in the earth, and the blameless are the ones that will be left over in it. 22 As regards the wicked, they will be cut off from the very earth; and as for the treacherous, they will be torn away from it. 3:1 My son, my law do not forget, and my commandments may your heart observe, 2 because length of days and years of life and peace will be added to you.
3 May loving-kindness and trueness themselves not leave you. Tie them about your throat. Write them upon the tablet of your heart, 4 and so find favor and good insight in the eyes of God and of earthling man. 5 Trust in Jehovah ( יהוה ) with all your heart and do not lean upon your own understanding. 6 In all your ways take notice of him, and he himself will make your paths straight. 7 Do not become wise in your own eyes. Fear Jehovah () and turn away from bad. 8 May it become a healing to your navel and a refreshment to your bones.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals. The Translations we quote are:
