Revelation 3:14-18 ALT
(14) "And to the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: 'These [things] says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning [or, Origin; or, Ruler] of the creation of God: (15) 'I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. O that you* were cold or hot! (16) 'So then, because you are lukewarm, and not hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you out of My mouth. (17) 'Because you say, "I am wealthy and have grown rich and have need of nothing," and you do not know that you are the wretched [one] and the miserable [one], and poor and blind and naked, (18) 'I advise you to buy from me gold having been refined by fire [the teachings of Christ], so that you shall grow rich, and white garments [faith in Christ], so that you shall be clothed and the shame of your nakedness shall not be revealed, so that you shall smear your eyes with eye-salve [read and take to heart the words of Christ], so that you shall see.

Revelation 3:14-18 BBE
(14) And to the angel of the church in Laodicea say: These things says the true and certain witness, the head of God's new order: (15) I have knowledge of your works, that you are not cold or warm: it would be better if you were cold or warm. (16) So because you are not one thing or the other, I will have no more to do with you. (17) For you say, I have wealth, and have got together goods and land, and have need of nothing; and you are not conscious of your sad and unhappy condition, that you are poor and blind and without clothing. (18) If you are wise you will get from me gold tested by fire [the teachings of Christ], so that you may have true wealth; and white robes to put on [faith in Christ], so that your shame may not be seen; and oil for your eyes [read and take to heart the words of Christ], so that you may see.

Revelation 3:14-18 NWT
14 "And to the angel of the congregation in Laodicea write: These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God, 15 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were cold or else hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm and neither hot nor cold, I am going to vomit you out of my mouth. 17 Because you say: "I am rich and have acquired riches and do not need anything at all," but you do not know you are miserable and pitiable and poor and blind and naked, 18 I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire [the teachings of Christ] that you may become rich, and white outer garments [faith in Christ] that you may become dressed and that the shame of your nakedness may not become manifested, and eyesalve to rub in your eyes [read and take to heart the words of Christ] that you may see.

Revelation 3:14-18 CEV
(14) This is what you must write to the angel of the church in Laodicea: I am the one called Amen! I am the faithful and true witness and the source of God's creation. Listen to what I say. (15) I know everything you have done, and you are not cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other. (16) But since you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth. (17) You claim to be rich and successful and to have everything you need. But you don't know how bad off you are. You are pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. (18) Buy your gold from me [the teachings of Christ]. It has been refined in a fire, and it will make you rich. Buy white clothes [faith in Christ] from me. Wear them and you can cover up your shameful nakedness. Buy medicine for your eyes [read and take to heart the words of Christ], so that you will be able to see.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation
