Romans 8:1-11 ESV There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. (2) For the law of the Spirit of life [James 2:8; Romans 13:10] has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death [the Jewish law code]. (3) For God has done what the law, weakened by the flesh, could not do. By sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh, (4) in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. (5) For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. (6) For to set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. (7) For the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God, for it does not submit to God's law; indeed, it cannot. (8) Those who are in the flesh cannot please God. (9) You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ (knowledge of, and faith in, the words of Christ) does not belong to him. (10) But if Christ is in you, although the body is dead because of sin, the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (11) If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
Romans 8:1-11 GNB There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus. (2) For the law of the Spirit [James 2:8; Romans 13:10], which brings us life in union with Christ Jesus, has set me free from the law of sin and death. (3) What the Law could not do, because human nature was weak, God did. He condemned sin in human nature by sending his own Son, who came with a nature like our sinful nature, to do away with sin. (4) God did this so that the righteous demands of the Law might be fully satisfied in us who live according to the Spirit, and not according to human nature. (5) Those who live as their human nature tells them to, have their minds controlled by what human nature wants. Those who live as the Spirit tells them to, have their minds controlled by what the Spirit wants. (6) To be controlled by human nature results in death; to be controlled by the Spirit results in life and peace. (7) And so people become enemies of God when they are controlled by their human nature; for they do not obey God's law, and in fact they cannot obey it. (8) Those who obey their human nature cannot please God. (9) But you do not live as your human nature tells you to; instead, you live as the Spirit tells you to---if, in fact, God's Spirit lives in you. Whoever does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him. (10) But if Christ lives in you, the Spirit is life for you because you have been put right with God, even though your bodies are going to die because of sin. (11) If the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who raised Christ from death will also give life to your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit in you.
Romans 8:1-11 CEV If you belong to Christ Jesus, you won't be punished. (2) The Holy Spirit will give you life that comes from Christ Jesus [James 2:8; Romans 13:10] and will set you free from sin and death. (3) The Law of Moses cannot do this, because our selfish desires make the Law weak. But God set you free when he sent his own Son to be like us sinners and to be a sacrifice for our sin. God used Christ's body to condemn sin. (4) He did this, so that we would do what the Law commands by obeying the Spirit instead of our own desires. (5) People who are ruled by their desires think only of themselves. Everyone who is ruled by the Holy Spirit thinks about spiritual things. (6) If our minds are ruled by our desires, we will die. But if our minds are ruled by the Spirit, we will have life and peace. (7) Our desires fight against God, because they do not and cannot obey God's laws. (8) If we follow our desires, we cannot please God. (9) You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God's Spirit, who lives in you. People who don't have the Spirit of Christ in them don't belong to him. (10) But Christ lives in you. So you are alive because God has accepted you, even though your bodies must die because of your sins. (11) Yet God raised Jesus to life! God's Spirit now lives in you, and he will raise you to life by his Spirit.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
