The LORD (יהוה) will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem; He will save His people and make them a blessing among the nations.
Zechariah 8:1-23 NIV . . .The word of the LORD (יהוה) Almighty came to me. (2) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "I am very jealous for Zion; I am burning with jealousy for her." (3) This is what the LORD (יהוה) says: "I will return to Zion and dwell in Jerusalem. Then Jerusalem will be called the Faithful City, and the mountain of the LORD (יהוה) Almighty will be called the Holy Mountain." (4) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each of them with cane in hand because of their age. (5) The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there." (6) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "It may seem marvelous to the remnant of this people at that time, but will it seem marvelous to me?" declares the LORD (יהוה) Almighty. (7) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "I will save my people from the countries of the east and the west. (8) I will bring them back to live in Jerusalem; they will be my people, and I will be faithful and righteous to them as their God." (9) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "Now hear these words, 'Let your hands be strong so that the temple may be built.' This is also what the prophets said who were present when the foundation was laid for the house of the LORD (יהוה) Almighty. (10) Before that time there were no wages for people or hire for animals. No one could go about their business safely because of their enemies, since I had turned everyone against their neighbor. (11) But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as I did in the past," declares the LORD (יהוה) Almighty. (12) "The seed will grow well, the vine will yield its fruit, the ground will produce its crops, and the heavens will drop their dew. I will give all these things as an inheritance to the remnant of this people. (13) Just as you, Judah and Israel, have been a curse among the nations, so I will save you, and you will be a blessing. Do not be afraid, but let your hands be strong." (14) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "Just as I had determined to bring disaster on you and showed no pity when your ancestors angered me," says the LORD (יהוה) Almighty, (15) "so now I have determined to do good again to Jerusalem and Judah. Do not be afraid. (16) These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; (17) do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this," declares the LORD (יהוה). (18) The word of the LORD (יהוה) Almighty came to me. (19) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh and tenth months will become joyful and glad occasions and happy festivals for Judah. Therefore love truth and peace." (20) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come, (21) and the inhabitants of one city will go to another and say, 'Let us go at once to entreat the LORD (יהוה) and seek the LORD (יהוה) Almighty. I myself am going.' (22) And many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to seek the LORD (יהוה) Almighty and to entreat him." (23) This is what the LORD (יהוה) Almighty says: "In those days ten people from all languages and nations will take firm hold of one Jew by the hem of his robe and say, 'Let us go with you, because we have heard that God is with you.'"
Zechariah 8:1-23 WEB . . .The word of Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies came to me. (2) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath." (3) Yahweh (יהוה) says: "I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the middle of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called 'The City of Truth;' and the mountain of Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies, 'The Holy Mountain.'" (4) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "Old men and old women will again dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, every man with his staff in his hand for very age. (5) The streets of the city will be full of boys and girls playing in its streets." (6) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?" says Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies. (7) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country; (8) and I will bring them, and they will dwell within Jerusalem; and they will be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness." (9) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "Let your hands be strong, you who hear in these days these words from the mouth of the prophets who were in the day that the foundation of the house of Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies was laid, even the temple, that it might be built. (10) For before those days there was no wages for man, nor any wages for an animal; neither was there any peace to him who went out or came in, because of the adversary. For I set all of them everyone against his neighbor. (11) But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days," says Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies. (12) "For the seed of peace and the vine will yield its fruit, and the ground will give its increase, and the skies will give their dew. I will cause the remnant of this people to inherit all these things. (13) It shall come to pass that, as you were a curse among the nations, house of Judah and house of Israel, so I will save you, and you shall be a blessing. Don’t be afraid. Let your hands be strong." (14) For Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "As I thought to do evil to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath," says Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies, "and I didn’t repent, (15) so again I have thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Don’t be afraid. (16) These are the things that you shall do: speak every man the truth with his neighbor. Execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates, (17) and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate," says Yahweh (יהוה). (18) The word of Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies came to me. (19) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "The fasts of the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months shall be for the house of Judah joy, gladness, and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace." (20) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "Many peoples and the inhabitants of many cities will yet come. (21) The inhabitants of one will go to another, saying, 'Let’s go speedily to entreat the favor of Yahweh (יהוה), and to seek Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies. I will go also.' (22) Yes, many peoples and strong nations will come to seek Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies in Jerusalem, and to entreat the favor of Yahweh (יהוה)." (23) Yahweh (יהוה) of Armies says: "In those days, ten men will take hold, out of all the languages of the nations, they will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, 'We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'"
Zechariah 8:1-23 ESV . . .And the word of the LORD (יהוה) of hosts came, saying, (2) "Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath. (3) Thus says the LORD (יהוה): I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the LORD (יהוה) of hosts, the holy mountain. (4) Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age. (5) And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets. (6) Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the LORD (יהוה) of hosts? (7) Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country, (8) and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness." (9) Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: "Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of the LORD (יהוה) of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built. (10) For before those days there was no wage for man or any wage for beast, neither was there any safety from the foe for him who went out or came in, for I set every man against his neighbor. (11) But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days, declares the LORD (יהוה) of hosts. (12) For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. (13) And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong." (14) For thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: "As I purposed to bring disaster to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts, (15) so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not. (16) These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace; (17) do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the LORD (יהוה)." (18) And the word of the LORD (יהוה) of hosts came to me, saying, (19) "Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace. (20) "Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities. (21) The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, 'Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the LORD (יהוה) and to seek the LORD (יהוה) of hosts; I myself am going.' (22) Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD (יהוה) of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the LORD (יהוה). (23) Thus says the LORD (יהוה) of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, 'Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.'"
Zechariah 8:1-23 GNB . . .The LORD (יהוה) Almighty gave this message to Zechariah: (2) "I have longed to help Jerusalem because of my deep love for her people, a love which has made me angry with her enemies. (3) I will return to Jerusalem, my holy city, and live there. It will be known as the Faithful City, and the hill of the LORD (יהוה) Almighty will be called the Sacred Hill. (4) Once again old men and women, so old that they use canes when they walk, will be sitting in the city squares. (5) And the streets will again be full of boys and girls playing. (6) "This may seem impossible for those of the nation who are left, but is it impossible for me? (7) I will rescue my people from the lands where they have been taken, (8) and will bring them back from east and from west to live in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, ruling over them faithfully and justly. (9) "Have courage! You are now hearing the same words the prophets spoke at the time the foundation was being laid for rebuilding my Temple. (10) Before that time no one could afford to hire either people or animals, and no one was safe from enemies. I turned people against one another. (11) But now I am treating the survivors of this nation differently. (12) They will sow their crops in peace. Their vines will bear grapes, the earth will produce crops, and there will be plenty of rain. I will give all these blessings to the people of my nation who are left. (13) People of Judah and Israel! In the past foreigners have cursed one another by saying, 'May the same disasters fall on you that fell on Judah and Israel!' But I will save you, and then those foreigners will say to one another, 'May you receive the same blessings that came to Judah and Israel!' So have courage and don't be afraid." (14) "When your ancestors made me angry, I decided to punish you," says the LORD (יהוה) Almighty, "and I did not change my mind. (15) But now I am planning to bless the people of Jerusalem and Judah. So don't be afraid. (16) These are the things you should do: Speak the truth to one another. In the courts give real justice—the kind that brings peace. (17) Do not plan ways of harming one another. Do not give false testimony under oath. I hate lying, injustice, and violence." (18) The LORD (יהוה) Almighty gave me this message. (19) "The fasts held in the fourth, fifth, seventh, and tenth months will become festivals of joy and gladness for the people of Judah. You must love truth and peace." (20) "People from one city will say to those from another, 'We are going to worship the LORD (יהוה) Almighty and pray for his blessing. Come with us!' (21) (20) (22) Many peoples and powerful nations will come to Jerusalem to worship the LORD (יהוה) Almighty and to pray for his blessing. (23) In those days ten foreigners will come to one Jew and say, 'We want to share in your destiny, because we have heard that God is with you.'"
Zechariah 8:1-23 CEV . . .The LORD (יהוה) All-Powerful said to me: (2) I love Jerusalem with all my heart, and because of her I am very angry with her enemies. (3) I will return to Jerusalem and live there on Mount Zion. Then Jerusalem will be known as my faithful city, and Zion will be known as my holy mountain. (4) Very old people will once again sit along Jerusalem's streets with their canes in hand, (5) and the streets will be full of boys and girls playing. (6) This may seem impossible for my people who are left, but it isn't impossible for me, the LORD (יהוה) All-Powerful. (7) I will rescue my people from the countries in the east and west, (8) and I will bring them to live in Jerusalem. They will be my people, and I will be their God, faithful and just. (9) You people are hearing the same words the prophets spoke when the foundation was laid for the temple. So be courageous and build it! (10) Before that time, no one could afford to hire a laborer or to rent an animal. And no one was safe from enemies, because I turned people against each other. (11) But now I will treat the survivors of my nation differently. (12) Instead, I will make sure that your crops are planted in peace and your vineyards are fruitful, that your fields are fertile and the dew falls from the sky. (13) People of Judah and Israel, you were a curse among the nations, but now I will save you and make you a blessing. So don't be afraid or lose courage. (14) When your ancestors made me angry, I decided to punish you with disasters, and I didn't hold back. (15) But now I am planning to treat Jerusalem and Judah with kindness. So don't be afraid. (16) Here is what you must do: Speak the truth to each other. Be honest and fair when you make decisions in your courts. (17) Don't plan evil things against others or tell lies in court. I, the LORD (יהוה), hate those things! (18) The LORD (יהוה) All-Powerful told me to say: (19) People of Judah, I, the LORD (יהוה), demand that whenever you go without food as a way of worshiping me, it should become a time of celebration. No matter if it's the fourth month, the fifth month, the seventh month, or the tenth month, you should have a joyful festival. So love truth and live at peace. (20) I, the LORD (יהוה) All-Powerful, promise that people from foreign nations will again come to Jerusalem. (21) Those of one town will go to another and say, "We're going to worship the LORD (יהוה) All-Powerful and pray for his blessing. Come with us!" (22) Many people from strong nations will come to Jerusalem to worship me and to pray for my blessing. (23) When that time comes, ten foreigners will grab hold of one Jew and say, "We want to be with you, because we've heard that God is on your side."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us.
