NOT YET LINKED What can we learn from the Bible Revelation? There have been untold books written which included unlimited speculation about the Bible book of Revelation. It is a book that is not easy to understand, and seems to have been written with the intention it would be understood after what is therein prophesied is fulfilled or during it's fulfillment. It also seems to have been written mostly from the perspective of ones living much longer than men, so they can see and have seen it unfold over hundreds or even thousands of years. It seems the signs given are simple statements made by those ones providing many different views onto the stream of the outworking of Jehovah's purpose towards the earth and all creation. The views or signs they give often overlap, and or run parallel with the other signs. Some happened in the past, and some are yet to happen, while we are in midstream of others happening. An example is the view of the kings that would rule the earth: "And there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, and the other has not yet arrived"... (Revelation 17:10) That was the state of those kings in Johns day, around 100 CE. Five kings over the earth had been, one was, and one was to come. That sign and some others given are from the perspective of Johns day, and some from the "lord's" day. One problem for us in understanding is that we tend to think from the perspective of our own day [that being the brief 100 years we might live]. While the seventh king was yet to come in John's day, he has arrived in our day. To understand the book of Revelation, we need to try and keep in mind both where we are in time and the viewpoint on the sign being given. Let's try to avoid the speculation so many have been guilty of, and see what we can learn from Revelation simply from what the Bible says.

The Book says it is a Revelation given by God to Christ, who then gave it through angels in signs to John, who in turn gave it to the seven congregations: to us all. (Revelation 1-3)
