What is truth?

So scoffed a powerful Roman ruler some 2000 years ago. This in response to the words of a man on trial before him. The words generating his response?

"For this I have been born and for this I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth." (John 18:37-38)   Those were of course, words spoken by Christ Jesus. Jesus went on to say: "Those who are of the truth listen to my voice."

The purpose of this site is to gain and share knowledge of truth as defined by the Bible. Stated very simply, if the Bible teaches it we want to learn and promote it, if the Bible doesn't teach it, it's just opinion and we don't really care about it. Most mainstream religion has lost it's way; they have deviated to become seekers of money and power rather than truth. We desire to help faithful men and women understand why the failure of organized religion should not undermine faith in the Bible, but rather strengthen it. In addition to Jesus mentioning those who are "of the truth," God tells us his eyes are roving about in the earth to show his power in behalf of those whose heart is complete toward him. (2 Chronicles 16:9) That is our desire then, to learn from the Bible to be people "of truth;" and having a "complete heart" toward our Creator. Most importantly, we want to do our best to become friends of the God responsible for all this wonder! (James 2:23) ------ We believe the Bible to be an instruction book from our Creator, and therefore within the grasp of all who seek truth. This is an effort to gather those who share that faith and to free them from the clutches of those who strive to assume lordship over them.
