1 Corinthians 15:51-58 BBE . . .(51) See, I am giving you the revelation of a secret: we will not all come to the sleep of death, but we will all be changed. (52) In a second, in the shutting of an eye, at the sound of the last horn: for at that sound the dead will come again, free for ever from the power of death, and we will be changed. (53) For this body which comes to destruction will be made free from the power of death, and the man who is under the power of death will put on eternal life. (54) But when this has taken place, then that which was said in the Writings will come true, Death is overcome by life. (55) O death, where is your power? O death, where are your pains? (56) The pain of death is (through) sin; and the power of (or to make known) sin is the law: (57) But praise be to God who gives us strength to overcome through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) For this cause, my dear brothers, be strong in purpose and unmoved, ever giving yourselves to the work of the Lord, (John 6:28-29) because you are certain that your work is not without effect in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:51-58 CEV . . .(51) I will explain a mystery to you. Not every one of us will die, but we will all be changed. (52) It will happen suddenly, quicker than the blink of an eye. At the sound of the last trumpet the dead will be raised. We will all be changed, so that we will never die again. (53) Our dead and decaying bodies will be changed into bodies that won't die or decay. (54) The bodies we now have are weak and can die. But they will be changed into bodies that are eternal. Then the Scriptures will come true, "Death has lost the battle! (55) Where is its victory? Where is its sting?" (56) Sin is what gives death its sting, and the Law is the power (of death) behind sin. (57) But thank God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory! (58) My dear friends, stand firm and don't be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. (John 6:28-29) You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile.

(52) It will happen in an instant, in a split second at the sound of the last trumpet. Indeed, that trumpet will sound, and then the dead will come back to life. They will be changed so that they can live forever. (53) This body that decays must be changed into a body that cannot decay. This mortal body must be changed into a body that will live forever. (54) When this body that decays is changed into a body that cannot decay, and this mortal body is changed into a body that will live forever, then the teaching of Scripture will come true: "Death is turned into victory! (55) Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?" (56) Sin gives death its sting, and God's standards (the Law) give sin its power. (57) Thank God that he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. (58) So, then, brothers and sisters, don't let anyone move you off the foundation of your faith. Always excel in the work you do for the Lord. (John 6:28-29) You know that the hard work you do for the Lord is not pointless.

For when the trumpet sounds, the dead will be raised, never to die again, and we shall all be changed. (52) (SEE 15:51) (53) For what is mortal must be changed into what is immortal; what will die must be changed into what cannot die. (54) So when this takes place, and the mortal has been changed into the immortal, then the scripture will come true: "Death is destroyed; victory is complete!" (55) "Where, Death, is your victory? Where, Death, is your power to hurt?" (56) Death gets its power to hurt from sin, and sin gets its power from the Law. (57) But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ! (58) So then, my dear friends, stand firm and steady. Keep busy always in your work for the Lord, (John 6:28-29) since you know that nothing you do in the Lord's service is ever useless.
