1 Corinthians 6:9-12 GNB (9) Surely you know that the wicked will not possess God's Kingdom. Do not fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or homosexual perverts (10) or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves---none of these will possess God's Kingdom. (Rom 1:20-32; 1 Tim 1:8-11) (11) Some of you were like that. But you have been purified from sin; you have been dedicated to God; you have been put right with God by the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (12) Someone will say, "I am allowed to do anything." Yes; but not everything is good for you. I could say that I am allowed to do anything, but I am not going to let anything make me its slave.

Neither will any thief or greedy person or drunkard or anyone who curses and cheats others. (11) Some of you used to be like that. But now the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of God's Spirit have washed you and made you holy and acceptable to God. (12) Some of you say, "We can do anything we want to." But I tell you that not everything is good for us. So I refuse to let anything have power over me.
