1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 MWT
For you yourselves know quite well that 's day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. 3 Whenever it is that they [false Christians and non-believers] are saying: "Peace and security!" then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape. . . [ יהוה is God's Hebrew Name]
In today's failing world, we see all the politicians and religious leaders telling their "sheep" not to worry or fret, just keep giving them your money and support, and everything will be fine. It is akin to the stewards on the listing Titanic telling passenger to keep dancing while they continued to polish the brass.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 GNB
(2) For you yourselves know very well that the Day of the Lord  () will come as a thief comes at night. (3) When people [false Christians and non-believers] say, "Everything is quiet and safe," then suddenly destruction will hit them! It will come as suddenly as the pains that come upon a woman in labor, and people will not escape.

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 GW
(2) You know very well that the day of the Lord  () will come like a thief in the night. . . .For you yourselves know quite well that Jehovah's  (  יהוה  )   day is coming exactly as a thief in the night. 3 Whenever it is that they [false Christians and non-believers] are saying: "Peace and security!" then sudden destruction is to be instantly upon them just as the pang of distress upon a pregnant woman; and they will by no means escape. . .

1 Thessalonians 5:2-3 BBE
(2) For you yourselves have the knowledge that the day of the Lord  () will come like a thief in the night. You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
The Translations we quote are:

ALT - Analytical Literal Translation

ASV - American Standard Version (by the American revision committee in 1897).

Darby - 1889 Darby Bible

DRB - 1899 Douay-Rheims Bible

BBE - 1965 Bible in Basic English

LITV - Literal Translation of the Holy Bible

KJV - King James Version

MKJV - Modern King James Version

NWT - New World Translation

Webster - 1833 Webster Bible

RV - Revised Version

YLT - Young's Literal Translation
