1 Timothy 1:9-17 GW For example, a person must realize that laws are not intended for people who have God's approval. Laws are intended for lawbreakers and rebels, for ungodly people and sinners, for those who think nothing is holy or sacred, for those who kill their fathers, their mothers, or other people. (10) Laws are intended for people involved in sexual sins, for homosexuals, for kidnappers, for liars, for those who lie when they take an oath, and for whatever else is against accurate teachings. (11) Moses' Teachings were intended to be used in agreement with the Good News that contains the glory of the blessed God. I was entrusted with that Good News. (12) I thank Christ Jesus our Lord that he has trusted me and has appointed me to do his work with the strength he has given me. (13) In the past I cursed him, persecuted him, and acted arrogantly toward him. However, I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in my unbelief. (14) Our Lord was very kind to me. Through his kindness he brought me to faith and gave me the love that Christ Jesus shows people. (15) This is a statement that can be trusted and deserves complete acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, and I am the foremost sinner. (16) However, I was treated with mercy so that Christ Jesus could use me, the foremost sinner, to demonstrate his patience. This patience serves as an example for those who would believe in him and live forever. (17) Worship and glory belong forever to the eternal king, the immortal, invisible, and only God. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:9-17 Calvin 1856 (9) Knowing this, that the law is not made for the righteous man, but for the unrighteous and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, (10) For fornicators, for sodomites, for robbers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there be anything else that is contrary to sound doctrine; (11) According to time gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which hath been intrusted to me. (12) And I give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath made me powerful, because he reckoned me faithful, by putting me into the ministry; (13) Who was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an oppressor, but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. (14) And the grace of our Lord aboundeth beyond measure, with faith and love, which is in Christ Jesus. (15) It is a faithful saying, and worthy of being fully accepted, that Christ Jesus came into the world, to save sinners, of whom I am the first; (16) But for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me the first, Jesus Christ might show all compassion, for a pattern to those who should believe in him to eternal life. (17) Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, (be) honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:9-17 GNB It must be remembered, of course, that laws are made, not for good people, but for lawbreakers and criminals, for the godless and sinful, for those who are not religious or spiritual, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers, (10) for the immoral, for sexual perverts, for kidnappers, for those who lie and give false testimony or who do anything else contrary to sound doctrine. (11) That teaching is found in the gospel that was entrusted to me to announce, the Good News from the glorious and blessed God. (12) I give thanks to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength for my work. I thank him for considering me worthy and appointing me to serve him, (13) even though in the past I spoke evil of him and persecuted and insulted him. But God was merciful to me because I did not yet have faith and so did not know what I was doing. (14) And our Lord poured out his abundant grace on me and gave me the faith and love which are ours in union with Christ Jesus. (15) This is a true saying, to be completely accepted and believed: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. I am the worst of them, (16) but God was merciful to me in order that Christ Jesus might show his full patience in dealing with me, the worst of sinners, as an example for all those who would later believe in him and receive eternal life. (17) To the eternal King, immortal and invisible, the only God---to him be honor and glory forever and ever! Amen.

1 Timothy 1:9-17 ALT knowing this: that law is not laid down for a righteous [person] but for lawless and insubordinate [persons], for ungodly [ones] and for sinners, for unholy and for profane [or, worldly] [ones], for killers of fathers and for killers of mothers, for murderers, (10) for sexual sinners, for participants in male-male sex, for slave dealers [or, kidnappers], for liars, for perjurers, and if anything else is in opposition to sound teaching, (11) according to the Gospel of the glory of the blessed God, [with] which I was entrusted. (12) And I give thanks to the One having empowered me—Christ Jesus our Lord—that He considered me faithful, having put [me] into the ministry, (13) the one formerly being a blasphemer and a persecutor and an insolent person, but I was shown mercy, because failing to understand, I did [it] in unbelief, (14) but the grace of our Lord overflowed with faith and love, the [grace which is] in Christ Jesus. (15) Trustworthy [is] the word and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first [fig., the foremost of all]. (16) But for this reason I was shown mercy, so that in me first [fig., as the foremost of all] Jesus Christ should demonstrate all His patience, as a pattern for the ones about to be believing on [or, trusting in] Him to life eternal. (17) Now to the King of the ages [fig., the King eternal], immortal, invisible, [the] only wise God, [be] honor and glory into the ages of the ages [fig., forever and ever]! So be it!

1 Timothy 1:9-17 NWT 9 in the knowledge of this fact, that law is promulgated, not for a righteous man, but for persons lawless and unruly, ungodly and sinners, lacking loving-kindness, and profane, murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, manslayers, 10 fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching 11 according to the glorious good news of the happy God, with which I was entrusted. 12 I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who imparted power to me, because he considered me faithful by assigning me to a ministry, 13 although formerly I was a blasphemer and a persecutor and an insolent man. Nevertheless, I was shown mercy, because I was ignorant and acted with a lack of faith. 14 But the undeserved kindness of our Lord abounded exceedingly along with faith and love that is in connection with Christ Jesus. 15 Faithful and deserving of full acceptance is the saying that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of these I am foremost. 16 Nevertheless, the reason why I was shown mercy was that by means of me as the foremost case Christ Jesus might demonstrate all his long-suffering for a sample of those who are going to rest their faith on him for everlasting life. 17 Now to the King of eternity, incorruptible, invisible, [the] only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
