2 Corinthians 6:14-18 GW . . .Stop forming inappropriate relationships with unbelievers. Can right and wrong be partners? Can light have anything in common with darkness? (15) Can Christ agree with the devil? Can a believer share life with an unbeliever? (16) Can God's temple contain false gods? Clearly, we are the temple of the living God. As God said, "I will live and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people." [Lev 26:12; Jer 32:38; Ezek 37:27] (17) The Lord says, "Get away from unbelievers. Separate yourselves from them. Have nothing to do with anything unclean. Then I will welcome you." [Isaiah 52:11; Ezek 20:34,41] (18) The Lord Almighty () says, "I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters." [2Sam 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jer 31:9]

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ALT . . .Stop being unequally yoked [fig., mismatched] with unbelievers; for what partnership [is there] for righteousness and lawlessness? And what fellowship [is there] for light with darkness? (15) And what agreement [or common ground] [is there for] Christ with Belial [i.e., the devil]? Or what part [is there for] a believer with an unbeliever [fig., what do a believer and an unbeliever have in common]? (16) And what harmony [is there for the] temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God, just as God said, "I will dwell in them and will walk about [fig., live] among [them], and I will be their God, and they will be a people to Me [or, My people]." [Lev 26:12; Jer 32:38; Ezek 37:27] (17) For this reason, "Come out from [the] midst of them and be separated," says the Lord. "And stop touching [any] unclean [or, defiling] [thing; or, person]," and I will receive you. [Isaiah 52:11; Ezek 20:34,41] (18) "And I will be to you for a Father, and you will be to Me for sons and daughters, says the LORD Almighty ()." [2Sam 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jer 31:9]

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 GNB . . .Do not try to work together as equals with unbelievers, for it cannot be done. How can right and wrong be partners? How can light and darkness live together? (15) How can Christ and the Devil agree? What does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? (16) How can God's temple come to terms with pagan idols? For we are the temple of the living God! As God himself has said, "I will make my home with my people and live among them; I will be their God, and they shall be my people." [Lev 26:12; Jer 32:38; Ezek 37:27] (17) And so the Lord says, "You must leave them and separate yourselves from them. Have nothing to do with what is unclean, and I will accept you. [Isaiah 52:11; Ezek 20:34,41] (18) I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty ()." [2Sam 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jer 31:9]

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 ESV . . .Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? (15) What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? (16) What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. [Lev 26:12; Jer 32:38; Ezek 37:27] (17) Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, [Isaiah 52:11; Ezek 20:34,41] (18) and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty ()." [2Sam 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jer 31:9]

2 Corinthians 6:14-18 CEV . . .Stay away from people who are not followers of the Lord! Can someone who is good get along with someone who is evil? Are light and darkness the same? (15) Is Christ a friend of Satan? Can people who follow the Lord have anything in common with those who don't? (16) Do idols belong in the temple of God? We are the temple of the living God, as God himself says, "I will live with these people and walk among them. I will be their God, and they will be my people." [Lev 26:12; Jer 32:38; Ezek 37:27] (17) The Lord also says, "Leave them and stay away! Don't touch anything that isn't clean. Then I will welcome you [Isaiah 52:11; Ezek 20:34,41] (18) and be your Father. You will be my sons and my daughters, as surely as I am God (), the All-Powerful." [2Sam 7:14; Isaiah 43:6; Jer 31:9]

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
