2 Timothy 4:3-4 GW A time will come when people will not listen to accurate teachings. Instead, they will follow their own desires and surround themselves with teachers who tell them what they want to hear. (4) People will refuse to listen to the truth and turn to myths.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 GNB The time will come when people will not listen to sound doctrine, but will follow their own desires and will collect for themselves more and more teachers who will tell them what they are itching to hear. (4) They will turn away from listening to the truth and give their attention to legends.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 CEV The time is coming when people won't listen to good teaching. Instead, they will look for teachers who will please them by telling them only what they are itching to hear. (4) They will turn from the truth and eagerly listen to senseless stories.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 BBE For the time will come when they will not take the true teaching; but, moved by their desires, they will get for themselves a great number of teachers for the pleasure of hearing them; (4) And shutting their ears to what is true, will be turned away to belief in foolish stories.

2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, (4) and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.
