Deuteronomy 9:4-6 GNB ..."After the LORD  (  יהוה  )  your God has driven them out for you, do not say to yourselves that he brought you in to possess this land because you deserved it. No, the LORD  (  יהוה  )  is going to drive these people out for you because they are wicked. (5) It is not because you are good and do what is right that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  is letting you take their land. He will drive them out because they are wicked and because he intends to keep the promise that he made to your ancestors, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. (Gen 22:17-18 of 15-18) (6) You can be sure that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  is not giving you this fertile land because you deserve it. No, you are a stubborn people.

Deuteronomy 9:4-6 LITV ...Do not say in your heart, when Jehovah  ( יהוה )  your God thrusts them out from before you, saying, Jehovah  ( יהוה )  has brought me in to possess this land for my righteousness. But say, Jehovah  ( יהוה )  dispossesses them from before you because of the wickedness of those nations. (5) It is not for your righteousness or for the uprightness of your heart that you go to possess their land. But Jehovah  ( יהוה )  your God is dispossessing them from before you because of the wickedness of these nations; and in order to establish the Word which Jehovah  ( יהוה )  has sworn to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. (Gen 22:17-18 of 15-18) (6) And you shall know that Jehovah  ( יהוה )  your God is not giving you this good land, to possess it, for your righteousness; for you are a stiffnecked people.

Deuteronomy 9:4-6 ESV ..."Do not say in your heart, after the LORD  (  יהוה  )  your God has thrust them out before you, 'It is because of my righteousness that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  has brought me in to possess this land,' whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  is driving them out before you. (5) Not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the LORD  (  יהוה  )  your God is driving them out from before you, and that he may confirm the word that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob. (Gen 22:17-18 of 15-18) (6) "Know, therefore, that the LORD  (  יהוה  )  your God is not giving you this good land to possess because of your righteousness, for you are a stubborn people.
