Exodus 20:1-17 GNB God spoke, and these were his words: (2) "I am the LORD   () your God who brought you out of Egypt, where you were slaves. (3) "Worship no god but me. (4) "Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. (5) Do not bow down to any idol or worship it, because I am the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God and I tolerate no rivals. I bring punishment on those who hate me and on their descendants down to the third and fourth generation. (6) But I show my love to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my laws. (7) "Do not use my name for evil purposes, for I, the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God, will punish anyone who misuses my name. (8) "Observe the Sabbath and keep it holy. (9) You have six days in which to do your work, (10) but the seventh day is a day of rest dedicated to me. On that day no one is to work---neither you, your children, your slaves, your animals, nor the foreigners who live in your country. (11) In six days I, the LORD  ( יהוה ) , made the earth, the sky, the seas, and everything in them, but on the seventh day I rested. That is why I, the LORD  (), blessed the Sabbath and made it holy. (12) "Respect your father and your mother, so that you may live a long time in the land that I am giving you. (13) "Do not commit murder. (14) "Do not commit adultery. (15) "Do not steal. (16) "Do not accuse anyone falsely. (17) "Do not desire another man's house; do not desire his wife, his slaves, his cattle, his donkeys, or anything else that he owns."

Exodus 20:1-17 NWT And God proceeded to speak all these words, saying: 2 “I am Jehovah   () your God, who have brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slaves. 3 You must not have any other gods against my face. 4 “You must not make for yourself a carved image or a form like anything that is in the heavens above or that is on the earth underneath or that is in the waters under the earth. 5 You must not bow down to them nor be induced to serve them, because I Jehovah  ( יהוה ) your God am a God exacting exclusive devotion, bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation, in the case of those who hate me; 6 but exercising loving-kindness toward the thousandth generation in the case of those who love me and keep my commandments. 7 “You must not take up the name of Jehovah  ( יהוה ) your God in a worthless way, for Jehovah  () will not leave the one unpunished who takes up his name in a worthless way. 8 “Remembering the sabbath day to hold it sacred, 9 you are to render service and you must do all your work six days. 10 But the seventh day is a sabbath to Jehovah  ( יהוה ) your God. You must not do any work, you nor your son nor your daughter, your slave man nor your slave girl nor your domestic animal nor your alien resident who is inside your gates. 11 For in six days Jehovah  ( יהוה ) made the heavens and the earth, the sea and everything that is in them, and he proceeded to rest on the seventh day. That is why Jehovah  () blessed the sabbath day and proceeded to make it sacred. 12 “Honor your father and your mother in order that your days may prove long upon the ground that Jehovah  ( יהוה ) your God is giving you. 13 “You must not murder. 14 “You must not commit adultery. 15 “You must not steal. 16 “You must not testify falsely as a witness against your fellowman. 17 “You must not desire your fellowman’s house. You must not desire your fellowman’s wife, nor his slave man nor his slave girl nor his bull nor his ass nor anything that belongs to your fellowman.”

Exodus 20:1-17 GW Then God spoke all these words: (2) "I am the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God, who brought you out of slavery in Egypt. (3) "Never have any other god. (4) Never make your own carved idols or statues that represent any creature in the sky, on the earth, or in the water. (5) Never worship them or serve them, because I, the LORD  () your God, am a God who does not tolerate rivals. I punish children for their parents' sins to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me. (6) But I show mercy to thousands of generations of those who love me and obey my commandments. (7) "Never use the name of the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God carelessly. The LORD  ( יהוה ) will make sure that anyone who carelessly uses his name will be punished. (8) "Remember the day of worship by observing it as a holy day. (9) You have six days to do all your work. (10) The seventh day is the day of worship dedicated to the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God. You, your sons, your daughters, your male and female slaves, your cattle, and the foreigners living in your city must never do any work on that day. (11) In six days the LORD  ( יהוה ) made heaven, earth, and the sea, along with everything in them. He didn't work on the seventh day. That's why the LORD  ( יהוה ) blessed the day he stopped his work and set this day apart as holy. (12) "Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live for a long time in the land the LORD  ( יהוה ) your God is giving you. (13) "Never murder. (14) "Never commit adultery. (15) "Never steal. (16) "Never lie when you testify about your neighbor. (17) "Never desire to take your neighbor's household away from him. "Never desire to take your neighbor's wife, his male or female slave, his ox, his donkey, or anything else that belongs to him."

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
