Hebrews 5:8-14 GW . . .Although Jesus was the Son of God, he learned to be obedient through his sufferings. (9) After he had finished his work, he became the source of eternal salvation for everyone who obeys him. (10) God appointed him chief priest in the way Melchizedek was a priest. (11) We have a lot to explain about this. But since you have become too lazy to pay attention, explaining it to you is hard. (12) By now you should be teachers. Instead, you still need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's word. You need milk, not solid food. (13) All those who live on milk lack the experience to talk about what is right. They are still babies. (14) However, solid food is for mature people, whose minds are trained by practice to know the difference between good and evil. (1 John 5:19-21)

Hebrews 5:8-14 ESV . . .Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered. (9) And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him, (10) being designated by God a high priest after the order of Melchizedek. (11) About this we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing. (12) For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food, (13) for everyone who lives on milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, since he is a child. (14) But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil. (1 John 5:19-21)

Hebrews 5:8-14 CEV . . .Jesus is God's own Son, but still he had to suffer before he could learn what it really means to obey God. (9) Suffering made Jesus perfect, and now he can save forever all who obey him. (10) This is because God chose him to be a high priest like Melchizedek. (11) Much more could be said about this subject. But it is hard to explain, and all of you are slow to understand. (12) By now you should have been teachers, but once again you need to be taught the simplest things about what God has said. You need milk instead of solid food. (13) People who live on milk are like babies who don't really know what is right. (14) Solid food is for mature people who have been trained to know right from wrong. (1 John 5:19-21)

Hebrews 5:8-14 GNB . . .But even though he was God's Son, he learned through his sufferings to be obedient. (9) When he was made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all those who obey him, (10) and God declared him to be high priest, in the priestly order of Melchizedek. (11) There is much we have to say about this matter, but it is hard to explain to you, because you are so slow to understand. (12) There has been enough time for you to be teachers---yet you still need someone to teach you the first lessons of God's message. Instead of eating solid food, you still have to drink milk. (13) Anyone who has to drink milk is still a child, without any experience in the matter of right and wrong. (14) Solid food, on the other hand, is for adults, who through practice are able to distinguish between good and evil. (1 John 5:19-21)

Hebrews 5:8-14 NWT . . .Although he was a Son, he learned obedience from the things he suffered; 9 and after he had been made perfect he became responsible for everlasting salvation to all those obeying him, 10 because he has been specifically called by God a high priest according to the manner of Mel·chiz´e·dek. 11 Concerning him we have much to say and hard to be explained, since YOU have become dull in YOUR hearing. 12 For, indeed, although YOU ought to be teachers in view of the time, YOU again need someone to teach YOU from the beginning the elementary things of the sacred pronouncements of God; and YOU have become such as need milk, not solid food. 13 For everyone that partakes of milk is unacquainted with the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. 14 But solid food belongs to mature people, to those who through use have their perceptive powers trained to distinguish both right and wrong. (1 John 5:19-21)

You will note the reference windows often include more than one translation of the Bible. The reason is to strive to gain the best possible understanding of the original Hebrew and Greek. Since we don't speak those languages, we rely on those who have come before and made the effort to translate those texts into English for us. Considering several translations gives the benefit of the understanding of several translation committees or individuals.
